Where Should Carson Wentz Be Drafted for Fantasy Football Team?

Lesley Tedeschi Aug 8th 5:25 PM EDT.

The news out of Philadelphia right now is that Carson Wentz is still not ready to take the field during the first few preseason games. Some people believe that Wentz could not only miss the preseason but he might miss the first few games of the regular season as well. As of this moment there is no official word from the Eagles camp on what they are planning to do with Wentz.

Obviously the Eagles want their quarterback back at the helm, hurling balls through the air and moving around the field like a gazelle as soon as possible. Wentz himself has stated that he will be ready to go for the start of the season and doesn't see a reason why he would remain sidelined. The Eagles have kept him out of the 11-11 practice field drills this week in order not to push him too fast. Wentz is ready to play, but the Eagles might be holding him out of preseason just to give him a little extra time to heal.

Wentz is still showing his coaches and teammates that he means business and is ready to help the team as soon as he can. He still looks sharp during passing drills and his on-field decision making hasn't lapsed.

So the real question and point of this is, what round should you draft Wentz this year? The answer isn't easy but here is my take.

Carson Wentz is easily in the top five fantasy quarterbacks bracket this year. It is still very early in draft season to know exactly where he will go, but his ADP is showing him at 64. This puts him being grabbed in round five based on a league with 12 teams. Running backs are still the hot players to go first as they have been for years now. Wide receivers and top quarterbacks can be inter changeable these days in my opinion. A top quarterback who is young like Wentz has a great upswing especially after last season. Yes he is coming off of a nasty ACL tear in his left knee and not every person bounces back like Adrian Peterson did a few years ago. Luckily Wentz is young and has rehabbed and been diligent during his recovery time.

Even if Carson Wentz misses the first few games of the season he is still a must have fantasy quarterback! Nick Foles is a perfectly fine fill in until Wentz can take the field. Obviously don't waste a top draft pick on Nick Foles!
