Stevan Ridley Lands at Colts
Running back Stevan Ridley has been signed by the Colts. Ridley was recently released by the Detroit Lions, where he barely saw playing time in the first two preseason games.
Ridley has fallen off track since his stellar year with the New England Patriots back in 2012. He had 12 touchdowns and 1,263 yards that season, which was undeniably his best. Ridley does have a history with fumbling, which lead to the Patriots no longer wanting him on the team. He moved on to the Jets, but didn't see much time on the field, being third on the depth chart.
The Colts are in serious need of running backs. Frank Gore can't carry the load for the entire team, and the backups they have now have only produced 91 yards over 49 carries during the preseason games. If Ridley can get back his success in 2012, the Colts have a chance to bolster the running back position.
Frank Gore is the starting running back and while he was up and down last season not managing to break 1,000 yards, with some help in the backfield he has a better chance of success. Gore is not a top draft pick, but he can be a decent backup and is worth getting in a later round.
