Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire: Oso Ighodaro, Kris Dunn Lead the Pack Thursday
A look at several trending fantasy basketball waiver wire targets ahead of the next slate of games.
Another day, another set of fantasy basketball waiver wire/streaming options to go over.
Here are the waiver stories we did on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, plus Thursday's streaming article.
Waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!
Oso Ighodaro: Coming Off Big Double-Double
Ighodaro has been added in 11.52% of fantasy leagues already today, bringing his overall mark up to 18.71%.
Ighodaro is coming off a 14-point, 14-rebound double-double, which explains why he is on the rise before his next game. He came off the bench and played 26 minutes in his last appearance, also tallying three assists and one block.
Ighodaro is averaging 5.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 0.6 blocks over 20.5 minutes a game this season. He's started just seven times over 61 appearances.
He's played a bit more of late, but not always produced like he did in his last appearance. Ighodaro can pick up a bit more with Dillon Brooks and Jordan Goodwin out with injuries for Phoenix, but he doesn't look like a long-term add.
Feel free to add/stream Ighodaro in deeper leagues, and hold him until his production drops off. He's more of a lottery ticket than a sure thing at this point, but maybe his last game is the start of a hot stretch for him.
Kris Dunn: Stat-Stuffing Guard
Dunn is up 11.48% and sits at 47.42% overall.
Dunn starts, but doesn't play a ton of minutes every night. Over his past three appearances, Dunn has logged 23, 26 and 22 minutes. He's tallied 31 points, 16 rebounds, 14 assists and six steals over that stretch though, showing some good fantasy value with his all-around play.
On the season, Dunn is averaging 8 points, 3.6 assists, 3.2 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 0.1 blocks over 27.6 minutes a night.
The all-around stats are nice for fantasy purposes, but his up-and-down scoring efforts hold him back from being a standard league asset most times. In stretches, he can be utilized in standard leagues, but he's a better deep-league asset.
Of course, he's fine to stream here and there in standard leagues, but if you are looking for a long-term fantasy asset, I'd probably be looking elsewhere. I do like adding/utilizing Dunn in most deeper leagues.
Guerschon Yabusele: Continuing His Improved Play
Yabusele is rostered in 28.71% of leagues after being picked up in 9.96% of leagues today.
Yabusele has delivered good numbers since being traded to the Bulls at the deadline. He is averaging 11 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.5 blocks over 25.3 minutes a night in 11 games with Chicago.
He's coming off a game in which he posted 18 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and one steal and block over 29 minutes. He played 23 and 21 minutes in the two games before that, so that inconsistent playing time is kind of concerning for fantasy owners.
Chicago is dealing with a bunch of injuries, including ones to Matas Buzelis, Zach Collins, Josh Giddey, Jaden Ivey, Anfernee Simons, Jalen Smith and Patrick Williams. With all those players out, Yabusele has a chance to log enough minutes and produce enough stats to have fantasy relevance.
Yabusele is a bit underowned in my eyes. I think he should be added/utilized in more deeper leagues, and he even has some standard league streaming upside if all those players continue to miss games.
Watch the injury report in Chicago and be ready to pounce if Yabusele seems destined for a bigger role.
Aaron Gordon: Close to Returning
Gordon is owned in 79.68% of leagues after a 4.37% increase.
Gordon has been out since January 23 with a hamstring injury, but he's expected back for Friday's game, so he's back on the rise.
He's averaging 17.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks over 23 appearances this season. It's been an injury-plagued season for Gordon, but when healthy, he's a good fantasy asset.
You aren't going to find too many waiver wire options who can deliver at the level Gordon does. If he was available in my league, I'd add him today in anticipation of his return tomorrow. He could be a really nice asset down the stretch, even with Denver at full health.
Denver isn't at full health though, as Cameron Johnson, Spencer Jones and Peyton Watson also missed the team's game earlier this week. So Gordon might not only return on Friday, but be a big part of the gameplan.
Add Gordon if you have the chance today.
