Perdomo searches for offensive spark amidst mid-season slump

Geraldo Perdomo continues to serve as the everyday shortstop for the third-place Diamondbacks (32-29). However, his bat has been cold, hitting just .204 over the last 30 days, though a home run over his last six games offers a small sign of life. With Arizona dealing with multiple injuries, including a questionable Ketel Marte, Perdomo's playing time remains secure for now.

Perdomo's current .225 season average is a massive regression from his elite .290 mark in 2025. Our models project a rest-of-season recovery toward a .268 average with moderate speed, but his current lack of hard contact is concerning. He must find his stroke soon, especially with shortstop prospect Jordan Lawlar nearing a return from a wrist injury.
