Latavius Murray: He once looked like a future star, but Murray got just 4.0 YPC last season despite running behind one of the NFLs best offensive lines. He did score 12 touchdowns and could emerge as Minnesotas goal-line back, but hes looking at backup duties behind rookie Dalvin Cook, whom the Vikings spent an early second-round pick on. Moreover, Murray is going to be behind the learning curve in a new system after undergoing offseason ankle surgery. His situation has gotten much worse with the switch in teams.
LeGarrette Blount: Hes leaving the Patriots, which provided Blount with an NFL-high 29 rushing attempts inside the five-yard line last season, helping him lead the league with 18 rushing touchdowns. In fact, he had 71 carries inside the red-zone, and no other back in the league reached even 60. He should remain a threat at the goal line in Philadelphia, but the Eagles are unlikely to provide even close to that amount of scoring opportunities, and they will employ a running back by committee, so Blounts carries (he had 299 last year) should plummet on his new team as well
Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz attempted 607 passes last year, the second-highest total for a rookie in NFL history. Head coach Doug Pederson hopes to 'take a little bit off' Wentz's plate in 2017 and believes the addition of RB LeGarrette Blount to the running game will help in that respect.
It appears as though former New England Patriots RB LeGarrette Blount will have the opportunity for an expanded role with the Philadelphia Eagles.
