Week 6 Fantasy Football Kicker and D/ST Streamers: Which Waivers Have Great Outlooks?
Two kickers and two D/ST groups with great matchups in Week 6 that are widely available in fantasy leagues.
Streaming kickers and defenses is necessary because matchups play such a big part in which player/team will excel each week. A few weekly starters always emerge, but more often, fantasy owners are searching for the next streamer to put into their lineup based on who they are playing.
Let's look at two kickers and two D/ST groups with good matchups in Week 6 that are widely available in fantasy leagues. Most stats are from NFL.com, and fantasy points and rankings are from FantasyPros.

Kicker
Blake Grupe, Los Angeles Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals
Grupe was signed to take over for the Rams after they cut Harrison Mevis, who was 0-for-2 on field goals Monday night. Mevis had missed two field goals before Week 5 but was strong in nine games in 2025, so it's a bit of a surprise to see him released. Grupe is the benefactor, though, joining a high-powered offense that will put up points.

He also starts with a fantastic matchup against the Cardinals, the team that has allowed the most points of any team this season. Arizona has given up 2.2 more points per game than the second-place Saints, allowing plenty of scoring opportunities for opposing teams.
Grupe is essentially unowned in fantasy leagues right now, as he was on the Jets' practice squad. He might be a player worth keeping if you haven't had luck finding a long-term kicker. I'm excited about Grupe's fantasy prospects moving forward, and that starts right away in Week 6.
Dominic Zvada, New York Giants vs. New Orleans Saints
The Giants scored 36 and 27 points in their past two games, both coming in great matchups against the Cardinals and Commanders. They continue the streak of weak defenses here, facing a Saints team that has allowed the second-most points through five weeks.
After making every kick during the first four weeks, Zvada missed three field goals in Week 5, a game that ended in a tie. They weren't easy kicks, as they were all from over 45 yards (and two at least 50 yards), but it is concerning and will bring questions as to how the rookie will bounce back.
I am willing to believe that he will find the form that made him so good during the opening month, and with a great matchup, Zvada is a worthy player to pick up if you need a kicker. I'd rather grab Grupe, as he has keeper upside, but Zvada is a fine second option if you can't get LA's new top man.
Defense/Special Teams
Indianapolis Colts vs. Tennessee Titans
The Titans have scored fewer points than any other team, a paltry 11.6 per game. Tennessee has less than half as many points as the Chiefs and Panthers, the two teams that had their bye last week.
That sets a great floor for opposing D/ST groups, as the Titans are highly unlikely to put up many points in any game. They have turned the ball over seven times in five games, with Cam Ward throwing three interceptions and the team losing four of eight fumbles. Ward has been sacked 10 times, which is close to the middle, but you can't ask for a better opponent to face in fantasy.
The Colts haven't been very good defensively, allowing the sixth-most points per game while intercepting just one pass and sitting below average in sacks. You're not picking up Indy's defense because you believe in their level of play; this is specifically because the matchup couldn't be much better.
Indianapolis is only a one-week option, as they have tougher games against the Vikings and Jaguars the next two weeks, but if you need a streaming D/ST, there's not a much better outlook.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers
It has been as bad of a start as LA could have imagined, as they are 0-5 with their next two games against the Chiefs and Rams. The Chargers have scored the third-fewest points, one of just three groups with fewer than 90 total. Like Tennessee, Los Angeles sets a nice floor for opposing fantasy defenses.
Then there are the turnovers: Justin Herbert is tied for the league high with seven interceptions, and the Chargers have fumbled 12 times, losing six of them. Herbert has also been sacked 17 times, the second most behind Deshaun Watson.
The Chiefs are coming off their bye, so their D/ST is more available than they would have been otherwise. Kansas City has been strong defensively so far, allowing the seventh-fewest points per game. They are tied for the eighth-most interceptions despite having their bye, though the Chiefs have just four sacks, tied for the fewest in the league. That number is likely to improve with more time, especially with the injured offensive line that Los Angeles is currently dealing with.
Kansas City is a strong D/ST fantasy option this week and have more positive matchups coming against the Broncos and Jets (though next week against Seattle isn't nearly as kind). Grab the Chiefs now with the intention of using them more over the next month, even if you have to find a different group next week.
