2023 NFL Mock Draft 3.0: C.J. Stroud Skyrockets To Top Overall Pick!
Draft season is here, and we are on to our second mock draft of the year. In this draft we will not be mocking any trades yet. This is straight forward the 31 picks as currently slated. We will begin adding trades as we get closer to the 2023 NFL Draft in April.
1 Carolina Panthers
QB C.J. Stroud, Ohio State
Stroud ends up where he was always inevitably going to end up. In the top spot. Bryce Young’s size will scare teams off from drafting him first overall and Anthony Richardson’s wild inaccuracy and terrible quarterback play will push him down the board.
2 Houston Texans
QB Anthony Richardson, Florida
The Texans like making bad decisions. Here’s another one. Richardson wowed at the combine enough to make NFL GMs pretend his film isn’t atrocious.
3 Arizona Cardinals
DL Jalen Carter, Georgia
This pick will probably be traded at some point, nevertheless, for now, we have Arizona grabbing the top D-lineman in the draft.
4 Indianapolis Colts
QB Bryce Young, Alabama
The Colts are sitting in that four spot hoping to God that no one trades up to No. 3 and steals Young out from under them.
5 Seattle Seahawks
Edge Will Anderson Jr. Alabama
Anderson slips to No. 5 because of the mad dash for QBs at the top of the draft. This is a fantastic pick for Seattle.

6 Detroit Lions
CB Christian Gonzalez Oregon
Gonzalez has done nothing but impress at every opportunity during the draft process. Teams love what he has shown both physically and mentally every time he gets a chance.
7 Las Vegas Raiders
OT Paris Johnson Jr. Ohio State
The Raiders are bringing in a stud offensive tackle to help protect their new oft-injured QB Jimmy G.
8 Atlanta Falcons
OL O’Cyrus Torrence, Florida
We expect another run-heavy approach from Atlanta next year with Desmond Ridder expected to be the starter. Torrence is built for the type of offense they want to run.
9 Chicago Bears
Edge Myles Murphy, Clemson
The Bears have been out here throwing money around in free agency, but they can still use some help getting to the quarterback.
10 Philadelphia Eagles
RB Bijan Robinson, Texas
The Eagles have very few holes which allows them a luxury pick of sorts. Usually drafting a running back this high isn’t a great idea, but Robinson is a game-changer.
11 Tennessee Titans
WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Ohio State
We now have JSN climbing up and becoming the top wideout off the board and landing with a team who could use another weapon on offense desperately.
12 Houston Texans
DL Siaki Ika, Baylor
Ika is 358 pounds and exactly what the Texans need. This defense was a disaster up the middle last season and they have to address this issue.
13 New York Jets
OT Peter Skoronski, Northwestern
There is a good chance this pick ends up being traded to the Green Bay Packers, but for now, we still have the Jets grabbing a tackle.
14 New England Patriots
WR Quentin Johnston, TCU
The Pats steal the best WR in this draft after he slips all the way to No. 14. There is a huge drop-off at the position after the top two guys.

15 Green Bay Packers
Edge Tyree Wilson, Texas Tech
If the Packers do get the Jets’ first-rounder they may grab Wilson at 13 and this pick would become very interesting.
16 Washington Commanders
CB Devon Witherspoon, Illinois
Witherspoon has been climbing draft boards and we have him now going as the CB2 in this draft to a team that needs help at the position.
17 Pittsburgh Steelers
CB Joey Porter Jr. Penn State
Joey Porter going to the Steelers just feels so right. This is even more likely now that they have signed a bunch of very good linebackers in free agency.
18 Detroit Lions
DL Bryan Bresee, Clemson
The Lions are getting better and on the cusp of being a real threat in the NFC North. Bulking up the middle of their offensive line could go a long way in solidifying this defense.
19 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
CB Cam Smith, South Carolina
Smith is a steal this late and is only still around because of how deep this draft is at cornerback.
20 Seattle Seahawks
WR Jalin Hyatt, Tennessee
The Seahawks have to start considering the future of their wide receiver position and looking for an heir to Tyler Lockett. Hyatt has climbed draft boards almost by default as other receivers have had a terrible month of workouts.
21 Los Angeles Chargers
LB Trenton Simpson, Clemson
The Chargers have holes to fill at linebacker and Simpson is the best in the draft.
22 Baltimore Ravens
DB Brian Branch, Alabama
The Ravens have to revamp their secondary and this is a great place to start.
23 Minnesota Vikings
Edge Lukas Van Ness, Iowa
The Vikings address their biggest need here adding a pass rush. They could use a linebacker too, but the top guy is already off the board.
24 Jacksonville Jaguars
OT Broderick Jones, Georgia
Jones has no business still being available this late, but this is how the chips fell and the Jags should be thrilled. He will protect Trevor Lawrence for a long time.
25 New York Giants
WR Rashee Rice, SMU
We may be higher on Rice than most, but in our eyes, he’s the third-best WR in this draft and we are banking on a smart team making the right call at a position of need.
26 Dallas Cowboys
S Antonio Johnson, Texas A&M
The Cowboys love running three-safety packages and Johnson is a special talent they could utilize in their secondary.
27 Buffalo Bills
LB Drew Sanders, Arkansas
The Bills need to replace Tremaine Edmunds and Sanders is the best linebacker available. He may not have the same strengths as Edmunds, however, he is a bit more versatile.
28 Cincinnati Bengals
CB Deonte Banks, Maryland
After locking up a stud OT in free agency we now have Cincy grabbing a stud CB in the first round. We hate to be redundant, nevertheless, you will continue to see steals at this position because the draft class is so good.
29 New Orleans Saints
OT Anton Harrison, Oklahoma
The Saints have added Derek Carr and secured some solid weapons around him. Now they just have to protect him.
30 Philadelphia Eagles
Edge Nolan Smith, Georgia
The Eagles will look to grab a talented young pass rusher to use in a rotation with the already stellar line they have. Picks like this are how they continuously have a great defensive front.
31 Kansas City Chiefs
WR Zay Flowers, Boston College
Flowers is the exact kind of weapon Andy Reid loves to utilize in his offense. They attack with speed and versatility and that’s what they are getting here.
