Kelly Oubre Jr. - Philadelphia 76ers
Oubre has been let go in 11.7% of leagues today, which brings his overall mark to 72%.
Oubre has a sprain in his lateral collateral ligament in his left elbow. He will be re-evaluated in two weeks, which explains his drastic dropoff today.
There's only a handful of weeks remaining in the regular season, so a multi-week absence now almost wipes out the rest of the fantasy season. With Oubre not being a fully-owned fantasy asset in standard leagues, it makes sense to be dropping him today.
He can be added if he's able to return later in the regular season. For now, you can drop Oubre in a lot of leagues, so that you can fill his roster spot with an active player.
Julian Champagnie - San Antonio Spurs
Champagnie is owned in 51% of leagues after a 5.5% dropoff today.
He'd been in a good groove, scoring in double figures in four straight before laying a goose egg on Tuesday. Champagnie only attempted four shots in that contest, and he missed each one, and never got to the free-throw line either. Champagnie had five rebounds in that contest, but nothing else.
San Antonio could be without a handful of players for its Thursday game, which could thrust Champagnie into a larger role. After a zero-point contest though, fantasy owners are choosing to bail on him.
I'd still hang on to him in deeper leagues, as I think his last game was an outlier. I'd probably look elsewhere for standard league help though.
Cam Spencer - Memphis Grizzlies
Spencer is down 5.5% as well. He sits at 58% overall.
He is day-to-day with a back injury. Spencer is questionable for Thursday's game, joining a long list of injured Grizzlies' players.
If he plays, he could be in for a big showing, but if he's out, obviously there's nothing he can provide. Spencer averages 11.3 points, 5.5 assists, 2.7 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks over 23.9 minutes a night on the season, so he's just a standard league streaming option.
I'd advise against dropping him in deeper leagues, unless his absence lasts several games. A game or two lost isn't enough for me to drop Spencer at his production level.
Tyrese Maxey - Philadelphia 76ers
Maxey has been dropped in 7% of leagues over the past couple of days.
I wrote about Maxey in length already this week, but the short story is that he's being dropped because he's injured and will miss most of, if not all of, the rest of the regular season.
He's on the drop list a day later, which makes sense. If you don't have an IR spot to use on him, then dropping Maxey is probably the right choice.
It's a massive blow for fantasy teams, but it's the wise choice to help you in the short term. Bite the bullet and find another fantasy asset for the last few weeks of the regular season.
GG Jackson II - Memphis Grizzlies
Jackson is owned in 70% of leagues after being let go in 4.8% of leagues.
He didn't start the last game, which is about the only reason I can guess why he's being dropped today. Jackson still provided 15 points, three rebounds and two assists over 25 minutes, so he was still a solid fantasy asset.
Jackson was averaging 15.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.4 blocks and 0.5 steals over 25.1 minutes a night over his past eight games, which were all starts. In a bench role, his production likely won't be as high, or consistent, but he can still be a good enough fantasy asset.
He was rising in standard leagues, and I believe he is still worth owning in a few standard leagues. Jackson is definitely not droppable in deeper leagues, and might not ever get to that point.
Watch his statline and react accordingly, but him not starting is more a sign to watch him closer than it is to immediately drop him.
Anthony Black - Orlando Magic
Black has been dropped in 3.9% of leagues, bringing his overall mark to 70%.
Black has a left lateral abdominal muscle strain, which will keep him out for a bit. His timetable isn't known yet, so dropping him makes a lot of sense.
He was averaging 15.3 points, 3.8 assists, 3.9 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 0.7 blocks over 30.7 minutes a night this season, so his fantasy owners are going to be hurting until he's back.
The more time Black misses, the more leagues he will be dropped in. I agree with that, unless you can stash him on an IR spot.
He'll be added back heavily when he's active again, so be watching his status and react accordingly.
