The NBA offseason has quieted down for the most part. There's some extensions that have happened, but those don't have huge impacts on fantasy basketball.

So today, I'm going to shift my attention from offseason moves to the upcoming 2025-26 season. I'm going to start by going over my top-10 fantasy basketball players. I'm attacking things with a standard redraft points league in mind.

1. Nikola Jokic - Nuggets

He led the way in fantasy points again in 2024-25, and there's no reason to expect him to drop this season. The only thing that could knock him down is a lengthy injury.

He has plenty to play for this coming season, and is delaying contract extension talks until next summer. The triple-double threat is going to top my list until someone actually overtakes him.

2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - Thunder

Give me the 2024-25 MVP in the second spot. He finished second last season as well.

SGA is entering his prime and should be able to build on his huge season. The Thunder are stacked, but Gilgeous-Alexander is the one that makes that team go.

3. Giannis Antetokounmpo - Bucks

I'm sticking with the No. 3 fantasy scorer from this past season in the third slot. Antetokounmpo is an absolute monster, and is showing no signs of slowing down.

The new-look Bucks are going to rely on Giannis even more next season, and if he stays healthy all season, he'll have a chance to push SGA and Jokic for the top spot. He's going to score a ton, average a double-double because of rebounds, and could up his assists with the ball in his hands more.

4. Luka Doncic - Lakers

Doncic is my No. 4 fantasy player for the upcoming season. Now that he's settled in a bit, and probably in the best shape of his life, I think Doncic is going to absolutely star for the Lakers.

LeBron James is getting older and needs more off days, so expect Doncic to power the team just about every game for the 2025-26 season. He'll have a chance to be the MVP if he stays healthy.

5. Victor Wembanyama - Spurs

Here's another MVP candidate, but health is an issue with him too. Wemby dealt with deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder.

He's expected to make a full recovery, but I'd expect the Spurs to be ultra-careful with their young superstar. That might mean more games off, and that's why I have Wemby in fifth, not any higher.

6. Anthony Edwards - Timberwolves

Edwards was the No. 5 fantasy performer in points leagues last season. I think he'll be near that spot again in 2025-26.

The guys ahead of him are so good, and that's why I have Edwards ranked where I do. He's a solid all-around player and can power any fantasy team to greatness.

7. Cade Cunningham - Pistons

Cunningham was the No. 10 fantasy player in points leagues last season, and I have him moving up a couple spots (with Jayson Tatum and Tyrese Haliburton both falling out because of their injuries).

Cunningham is another pretty well-rounded player, and I think he will take another step forward this season.

8. Domantas Sabonis - Kings

Sabonis finished outside the top 10 last season, but also missed 12 games. That's still not many missed games compared to a lot of NBA players, but Sabonis is not a big injury-riddled player, so I have him improving for the upcoming season as a fantasy asset.

The Kings have a lot of talent in the starting lineup, so Sabonis won't have a ton of pressure on him to score. He will be a triple-double threat every night, and that well-rounded game is what makes him a top-end fantasy asset.

9. Trae Young - Hawks

Young is not a well-rounded fantasy player, but on scoring and assists alone, Young can star. He was a top-10 fantasy finisher last season, and I expect more of the same next season.

Atlanta looks better on paper right now than it did last season, and I think that will help Young in his overall numbers a bit.

10. Karl-Anthony Towns - Knicks

The Knicks will be running back nearly the same roster as last season, just with a new coach. KAT was just outside the top 10 last season, and I think he ends up as a top-10 asset this coming season.

He mostly does his damage as a scorer and rebounder, but a high shooting percentage and a few other stats per game takes him from a good fantasy asset to a great one.
