Three-Team Trade Includes John Collins and Norman Powell
A three-team trade between the Miami Heat, Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers broke on Monday.
John Collins was sent from the Jazz to the Clippers. Norman Powell was moved from the Clippers to the Heat. Kevin Love and Kyle Anderson were sent from Miami to Utah. The Clippers also sent a second-round pick in the transaction.
Collins will likely come off the bench for LA, but play big minutes. There's also an oft-injured Kawhi Leonard ahead of him, so there's a chance for Collins to get more fantasy value when Kawhi is out of action.
The LA projected starting lineup of Leonard, James Harden, Kris Dunn, Derrick Jones Jr. and Ivica Zubac is strong, and adding Collins alongside Brook Lopez and Bogdan Bogdanovic off the bench gives the Clippers enough talent to make some noise in the Western Conference. I still think they could use another player or two, but at full strength, LA could give anyone in the league a good run.
Miami adding Powell while only losing Love and Anderson is a win for the Heat.
The projected starting lineup of Tyler Herro, Powell, Andrew Wiggins, Bam Adebayo and Kel'el Ware is really solid. Powell should thrive in that lineup, just like he has in LA over the years.
Miami's bench depth isn't the best right now, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the organization make another move or two this offseason. The Eastern Conference appears to be wide open going into the 2025-26 season, and Miami could definitely contend if it adds another solid player or two to the mix.
I'm not sure if Anderson or Love will stick in Utah. They seem like buyout candidates, as the Jazz have younger players they will want to play over those two veterans.
If both guys stick in Utah, I wouldn't expect either to hold really big roles. They'd probably top out as deep-league assets, if they were options at all.
Ryan Rollins Sticks with Bucks
The Bucks added a much-needed guard by signing Rollins to a three-year deal, which includes a player option in the final season.
Rollins averaged 6.2 points, 1.9 rebounds and assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks over 14.6 minutes in 19 starts and 56 games for the Bucks last season.
Those aren't eye-popping stats, but given the release of Damian Lillard, Milwaukee needs guard help. Rollins is probably the top backup to Kevin Porter Jr., who is the projected starting point guard for Milwaukee.
Rollins could become a sneaky good fantasy option for stretches this upcoming season. He'll be a name to keep tabs on, especially if the Bucks don't add any more guards between now and the regular season.
Magic, Mavericks Retain Players
Orlando brought back Moritz Wagner on a one-year deal, while Dallas signed Dante Exum for another year.
Wagner has averaged double figures in points in four of the past five seasons. He adds enough elsewhere to be a decent fantasy option when he's on the court.
Wagner only played 30 games last season before sustaining a season-ending injury. He should have a big enough role in 2025-26 to have deep-league fantasy appeal, at least.
Exum had a solid 2024-25 season in Dallas, averaging 8.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.2 blocks over 18.6 minutes. He played 20 games, starting 13 of them, after being out with an injury to start the year.
Dallas added D'Angelo Russell in free agency as well, so Exum will likely be his top backup. Once Kyrie Irving is ready to play, Exum might have a tougher time seeing the court, but until then, he could have some decent fantasy value.
He's probably just going to be a deep-league asset, but more injuries around him could turn Exum into a bigger fantasy threat.
Jaxson Hayes Remains with Lakers
The Lakers signed Deandre Ayton last week, and retained Hayes for the backup center role.
Ayton has some injury concerns over his career, so Hayes has some fantasy upside. Even with Ayton around, Hayes could play enough to be a deep-league fantasy asset.
Over 19.5 minutes a game last season, Hayes averaged 6.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1 assists, 0.9 blocks and 0.6 steals. He might get a similar amount of minutes this coming season, and those numbers could make him a useful asset in deeper fantasy setups.
