Wyatt Langford progresses on rehab assignment but remains a sit for this week

Langford has not appeared in a major league game since landing on the injured list with a right forearm strain on April 21st. The 24-year-old outfielder is currently on a rehab assignment, recently playing five innings in left field with Triple-A Round Rock. His imminent return will be a massive boost to a third-place Rangers team fighting to stay competitive in the AL West.

Before the injury, Langford was off to a slow start, batting .238 with one home run in 20 games. However, our projections remain highly optimistic, forecasting a .250 average and 15 home runs over 529 projected at-bats. Given his 22-homer performance last season, fantasy managers should expect positive power regression once he is fully healthy.

The Rangers face Cleveland for three games this weekend, where they will match up against tough arms like Parker Messick and his stellar 2.28 ERA. Because Langford is still finishing his rehab progression, he will not provide usable fantasy stats for this matchup window. Keep him safely stashed on your bench or IL slot. Verdict: Sit.
