Fantasy Football Quarterback Waiver Wire Adds for Week 13: Cameron Ward, Jacoby Brissett, Trevor Lawrence and More
Looking over some fantasy football waiver wire targets at quarterback going into week 13.
Week 12 is nearly in the books, and week 13 hits sooner for more with four games happening before Saturday, so fantasy football waiver wire adds are a little different this week.
Let's go over some options at the quarterback position. You can check out some running back options here - check back for more waiver stories!

Should You Add Jameis Winston or Jaxson Dart?
Winston is the top fantasy quarterback heading into the Monday night contest.
He threw for 366 yards, two touchdowns and a pick on 18-of-36 passing. Winston had 13 rushing yards on four carries, while also catching a 33-yard pass on a trick play.
It was a typical Winston performance, but it adds up to fantasy relevance. If he starts again in week 13, he's a legit fantasy starting option.
Dart has a chance to return from his concussion, and is owned in less leagues after missing a couple games in a row, so he's an option as well.
The Giants don't play until next Monday against the Patriots, so that makes it a bit riskier to pick one of them up not knowing who might start. New England is a pretty average matchup on paper, so either guy will be a fine starting option.
I like either in deeper leagues for sure, and would consider them in standard leagues as well. With no teams on byes, you can probably find some better options out there.
Should You Add Cameron Ward?
Ward finally had a good fantasy showing, scoring over 20 points.
He was 28-of-42 passing for 256 yards, a score and no interceptions. Ward added 37 rushing yards and a score on six attempts.
Ward has struggled most of the season, but finally posted an above-average score. This is the type of fantasy asset some expected him to be here and there.
Anyways, after a good outing, he will earn some more starts in deeper fantasy leagues. I'd still want to see him deliver a time or two more before liking him in standard leagues, especially with no QBs off this coming week.
He does have a very favorable matchup coming against the Jaguars, so it wouldn't be shocking for standard league owners to fire him up in week 13. I'd trust him more in deeper leagues, and maybe stash him in standard leagues if you have a roster spot to play with.
Should You Add Jacoby Brissett?
Brissett posted another above-average score in week 12, despite the team losing to Jacksonville.
He threw for 317 yards, a score and no picks on 33-of-49 passing. Brissett rushed for 20 yards on three attempts.
Brissett has been above average in every start he's made for Arizona. He continues to deliver, but yet he's underappreciated as a fantasy asset.
He has a favorable matchup in week 13 against the Buccaneers, so he needs to be starting in deeper leagues, and could be a sneaky good standard league asset again. I expect him to rank pretty well among QBs going into the week - check back later in the week for that article!
Should You Add Sam Darnold?
Darnold threw for 244 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions on 16-of-26 passing in week 12. He lost a yard on his only rushing attempt.
Talk about an underappreciated fantasy QB, Darnold has been that most of the season. He hasn't delivered consistently enough for complete ownership, but he's a better option than most think.
He will go up against the Vikings in week 12, so he has a chance to burn his most recent team. Minnesota is a tough matchup on paper.
I'll still likely have Darnold as an average-or-so fantasy QB option for week 13. If you are scrambling for a QB in standard leagues, Darnold is probably a bit more safe option than a streamer.
Should You Add Trevor Lawrence?
Lawrence helped the Jaguars to another win, this time over Arizona. It was an up-and-down showing for the Jaguars' quarterback though.
He was 18-of-30 passing, going for 256 yards and three touchdowns, but also three interceptions. He added 29 rushing yards on five attempts. He also fumbled once.
It'd be great if he could cut out the turnovers - he'd have been a high-end fantasy QB this past week if he was turnover-free. He typically puts up enough points for at least an average fantasy score, so he's another overlooked option in my eyes.
Tennessee will be an above-average matchup for Lawrence, so we'll see if he can deliver another above-average showing. I like him most in deeper leagues, but he's another sneaky good standard league option, much like Darnold.
Should You Add Tyler Shough?
Shough had 243 yards on 30-of-43 passing in week 12, but with no touchdowns and one interception, his fantasy score was lacking. He rushed for 22 yards on seven carries, and also fumbled once.
You might be wondering why I included him in this week's story. Well, he has a great matchup coming against the Dolphins, so if you like to play matchups, he's definitely an option.
I only like Shough in deeper leagues, because he hasn't shown enough most weeks for anything more than that. Now maybe down Alvin Kamara too, the Saints' offense just doesn't have enough playmakers to have much confidence in Shough.
He's fine to fire up in deeper leagues though, so don't write him off in week 13. We'll see if maybe the rookie can deliver in a great matchup.
Should You Add Shedeur Sanders?
Sanders helped the Browns to a win in week 12.
Sanders was 11-of-20 passing, but for 209 yards, a score and a pick. He lost a yard on his only rushing attempt.
There's nothing special about that performance, but at least Sanders showed he can hang in the NFL a bit - he was terrible in relief of Dillon Gabriel in week 11.
Sanders has a pretty favorable matchup coming against the Niners. It should help that San Fran will be on a short week as well, as the 49ers play tonight.
I still only like Sanders starting in deeper fantasy leagues, but the opportunity will be there for him to put up a surprisingly good score.
Should You Add Jordan Love?
Love got banged up in week 11, and maybe played a bit safe in week 12. He still led the Packers to a win over the Vikings, but wasn't asked to do a lot.
Love was 14-of-21 passing for 139 yards, but without a touchdown, his fantasy score was lacking. He rushed three times for 15 yards, and avoided a turnover, so he didn't hurt his fantasy score any more.
I'd expect him to be dropped after that performance, and he was only at 85% owned to begin with. He has a chance at a bigger fantasy score in week 13 in a Thanksgiving showdown with the Lions.
Detroit is a pretty favorable fantasy matchup for a QB, and it's one Love delivered in early in the season. In week 1, Love was 16-of-22 passing for 188 yards, two touchdowns and no picks - he rushed three times for four yards and avoided a fumble too.
It's a bit risky firing up Love after his week 12 showing, but the matchup and past result say that Love is worth a start in any fantasy league for week 13. Check over your options and see if Love is maybe worth adding and playing this coming week.
