Kyshawn George - Washington Wizards
George is owned in 74% of fantasy basketball leagues right now. He's down 8% today.
George is trending down because of an injury. He has a partial tear in the UCL in his left elbow and will be re-evaluated in about three weeks. The Wizards added that they will approach the injury "conservatively."
The NBA regular season ends on April 12, and if you take at least three weeks off that, George might not be playing too many more games this year, if he plays any at all.
That's a bummer, as George has taken off in his second season. He's averaging 14.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1 steal and 0.9 blocks over 29 minutes a game in his 48 games played (all starts).
Those are numbers for a pretty good fantasy player, so losing him will be a blow to his fantasy owners. It will be hard to find that kind of fantasy production on the waiver wire, so you might have to mix-and-match to get the job done the rest of the way.
Scotty Pippen Jr. - Memphis Grizzlies
Pippen has been let go in 6.4% of leagues, bringing his overall mark to 45%.
Pippen missed the team's last game with a toe injury. He is fresh off a long absence, so the team might play things cautiously with him for a while, if not the rest of the season.
All nine of his games played this season have come since February 6. He's averaged 11.4 points, 4.9 assists, 2.1 rebounds, 2 steals and 0.4 blocks over 20.9 minutes a game so far. Pippen has missed three games in that stretch though (all in instances where the team was playing back-to-back games).
You can expect Pippen to continue to miss a half of the team's back-to-back games the rest of the season, and that holds him back as a fantasy asset.
He is a good deep-league fantasy asset though, so don't be afraid to keep rostering him in those leagues. I'd look elsewhere for standard league fantasy help though.
Derik Queen - New Orleans Pelicans
Queen is rostered in 85% of leagues, which is down 4.5% so far today.
Queen has had a pretty nice rookie season in New Orleans, but he's tailed off a bit of late. He's coming off a two-point performance, and has only scored in double figures once over his past five contests.
That inconsistency makes it hard to continue rostering him in standard leagues, so many are choosing to drop him. I think that fantasy owners are right to do so as well.
The rookie is averaging 12 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1 steal and 0.9 blocks over 25.6 minutes a night. Queen is only at 8.6 points, 6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.8 blocks and 0.4 steals over 21 minutes a night over the past five contests though.
Drop Queen in some standard leagues, but keep an eye on him in case his role/production increases down the stretch. He's still worth rostering in deeper leagues, but just might not be a player you start on a full night of games.
Ty Jerome - Memphis Grizzlies
Jerome has been dropped in 3.7% of leagues, and he sits at 83% owned now.
Jerome has been really good since returning from an injury that forced him to miss most of the season. In nine games, he's averaging 19 points, 5.2 assists, 2.9 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 0.2 blocks over 21.2 minutes.
He started playing games on January 31, but has missed six games since. Jerome has played every other game dating back to February 11, which is eight contests.
That means he also shouldn't be rostered in all standard leagues, and I don't see that changing down the stretch as Memphis isn't playing for anything. He's a good fantasy asset in deeper leagues, even if he isn't playing every other game.
Jerome is a streaming option in all standard leagues for when he's active, but be watching his status, as he should be dropped when he's not active.
