The NBA regular season has wrapped up, and the playoffs are nearly here. Before we dive into any NBA playoff content (check back soon for those!), let’s discuss what transpired during the regular season.

In this article, I wanted to use the FantasySP Trade Value Charts to discuss some of the best fantasy performers from this season. We’ll also briefly discuss that player’s long-term outlook.

Explore the best in-season tool to manage lineup/start decisions including waiver pickups, projections, trade suggestions, trade value charts, rest of season rankings, power rankings, and tons more with Fantasy Assistant. Use our fantasy basketball trade analyzer to break down trade scenarios.

Nikola Jokic Fantasy Outlook

Jokic was the top player in our system, and it really wasn’t all that close by the end of the season. He finished with a player rating of 45.38.

Jokic played in 79 games and averaged 34.6 minutes. He also averaged 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, 9 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.9 blocks. Jokic shot 58.3% from the floor, 35.9% from 3-point land and 81.7% from the free-throw line.

Jokic scored in double figures in all but four games, with 64 games over 20 points. He pulled down double-digit rebounds 63 times, and had 10 or more assists 31 times. Jokic finished with 68 double-doubles and 25 triple-doubles. The big man had a steal in all but 23 games, and a block in all but 33 games.

Jokic appears poised to win MVP again this season, and should remain one of the top players in the game (and in fantasy) for several more seasons still. Jokic just recently turned 29.

Luka Doncic Fantasy Outlook

Doncic was second on the player ratings with a mark of 40.13.

Doncic appeared in 70 games, averaging 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, 9.8 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.5 blocks across 37.5 minutes. He shot 48.7% overall, 38.2% from deep and 78.6% from the line.

Doncic scored in double figures in all 70 games he appeared in, going over 30 points on 50 occasions. He had double-digit boards on 33 occasions, with double-digit assists in 37 games. Doncic had 49 double-doubles, 21 triple-doubles, a steal in 65 games and a block in 26 contests.

Doncic is just 25 years old, so there’s no question that he’ll remain one of the top players in the league (and in fantasy) for the next several seasons.

Anthony Davis Fantasy Outlook

Davis is a bit of a surprise at the third spot, sitting with a mark of 37.55, but the numbers back him up.

Davis played in a career-high 76 games, averaging 24.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.3 blocks and 1.2 steals across 35.5 minutes. He shot 55.6% overall, 27.1% on his 3-pointers and 81.6% from the line.

Davis had 64 double-doubles and two triple-doubles this season. He scored in double figures in all but four games, with 21 games over 30 points. Davis grabbed 10 or more boards in all but 12 games, with 20 occasions where he had five or more assists. He had a steal in 46 games and a block in 66 contests.

His play on the court has never really been an issue, it’s all about games played for Davis, and he showed he can play nearly a full season this year. As he ages, it might be harder and harder to count on him to play this many games, but there’s no denying he’s one of the better fantasy players when he’s out there.

LeBron James Fantasy Outlook

James played 71 games in his 20th NBA season. He has a player rating of 36.65, which is good enough for fourth overall.

James averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.5 blocks across 35.3 minutes. He shot 54% from the floor, 41% from deep and 75% from the line.

LeBron scored in double figures in each game he played in, with 10 or more boards on 14 occasions. He went over 10 assists 18 times, had an assist in all but 22 games and a block in all but 41 games. He posted 27 double-doubles and five triple-doubles.

James isn’t the player he once was, but he still can guide a team and propel a fantasy team to good results. It looks like James could play several more years still, and it would surprise a lot of people if he retired this offseason, but I wouldn’t say it’s completely out of the question. If he’s playing again next season, he’ll remain a top-end fantasy option.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Fantasy Outlook

Antetokounmpo sits fifth on the player ratings despite missing the team’s final few games with an injury.

The Greek Freak averaged 30.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks across 35.2 minutes in 73 games played. He shot a career high 61.1% overall, went 27.4% from 3-point land and 65.7% from the line.

Antetokounmpo had 57 double-doubles and 10 triple-doubles this season. He scored in double figures every game, with 43 games over 30 points. He went over 10 boards 52 times, while having 10 or more assists on 15 occasions. Giannis had a steal in 48 games and a block in 49 games.

Even with Damian Lillard on the team, Antetokounmpo showed he’s still the top player for the Bucks. He’s still just 29 years old, and appears to have several strong years ahead of him still.

Domantas Sabonis Fantasy Outlook

Sabonis sits sixth on the player ratings, and was an absolute offensive force while on the court.

He averaged 19.4 points, 13.7 rebounds, 8.2 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.6 blocks across 35.7 minutes. Sabonis played all 82 games, shooting 59.4% overall, 37.9% on his few 3-point attempts and 70.4% on his free throws.

Sabonis tallied 77 double-doubles and 26 triple-doubles. He only failed to reach double figures in points in three games, while scoring over 30 points six times. Sabonis had 10 or more boards in all but six games, while finishing with double-digit assists 29 times. He had a steal in 48 games and a block in 34 contests.

Sabonis is one of the more underrated fantasy players in the league right now, and is just 27, so there should be several more productive years ahead of him. He’s a big name, but offers great value because he usually gets drafted after the really big stars, yet outproduces several of them.

Jalen Brunson Fantasy Outlook

Brunson was a fantastic value pick this season, despite going in the middle of the third round on average. The FSP player rating system had him as the seventh-best player.

Brunson averaged 28.7 points, 6.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 0.2 blocks across 35.4 minutes and 77 games played. He shot 47.9% from the floor, 40.1% from 3-point land and 84.7% from the line.

Brunson had nine double-doubles this season. He scored in double figures in all but two games, with 36 games over 30 points. Brunson didn’t reach double figures in rebounds all season, but hit that mark in assists nine times. He had a steal in 43 games and a block in 13 contests.

The Knicks’ guard is a slightly different kind of fantasy asset, doing most of his damage as a scorer and passer, but he was so consistent that he finished as one of the best fantasy players in the game. Brunson is just 27, so his best playing days could be ahead of him still.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Fantasy Outlook

The last guy I want to talk about is Gilgeous-Alexander. SGA played in 75 games, averaging 30.1 points, 6.2 assists, 5.5 rebounds, 2 steals and 0.9 blocks across 34 minutes. He shot 53.5% from the floor and 35.3% from deep, while going 87.4% from the line.

SGA had eight double-doubles on the season, scoring below 10 points just once. He scored over 30 points on 51 occasions. Gilgeous-Alexander had 10 or more boards on three occasions, while reaching double-digit assist numbers five times. He had a steal in all but 11 games, while recording a block in 46 contests.

SGA scored a little less than a season ago, but improved as a rebounder and passer. His shooting percentage overall and from 3-point land increased, and he is now one of the unquestioned stars of the league. He should be part of the MVP discussion every season for the next few years, as he’s just 25 years old.
