NCAA Final Four Predictions: Can Miami Pull Off The Unthinkable?
After a crazy month, we have reached the Final 4 in NCAA Tournament. We are going to take a look at the final three games and give our predictions on who we think will walk away as the NCAA Champions.

Final Four
5. San Diego St. vs 9. FAU
In our first game, we have the No. 5 seeded San Diego State Aztecs taking on the No. 9 seed Florida Atlantic Owls. This is a game in which the Aztecs will look to use their physicality and impose their will onto the Owls. FAU on the other hand will look to use their scoring depth to grind out a win in this one. Despite the Owls having that “something” about them and looking like a team of destiny, the Aztecs have knocked out superior competition along the way so far including No. 1 seed Alabama. This is a really tough game to call.
In the end, we are going to have to go with the San Diego State Aztecs. We believe ultimately that the physicality of San Diego State will be able to get the job done. Look for the game to come to a grinding halt in the second half as the Aztecs make this a slow-paced defensive battle. This should be a low-scoring affair. We don’t expect FAU to hit the 60-point mark in this one, a feat only Alabama managed against this San Diego State defense so far in this tournament. This will be a hard-fought battle, but San Diego State will prevail and come out on top punching its ticket to a championship opportunity.
Prediction: San Diego State Aztecs win 62-58

4. UConn vs 5. Miami
This is the weekend's marquee matchup as the No. 4 seed UConn Huskies take on the No. 5 seed Miami Hurricanes. UConn has the history and lineage in the NCAA Tournament and is the only team left that has ever been to a Final Four. They’ve been to plenty of them and have hung championship banners in their rafters. Miami is beginning to establish itself as a basketball powerhouse in the ACC and this may just be their coming out party.
Both of these teams are more well-rounded than the two in other game, however, the Huskies will be the superior defensive team in this one while the Canes will look to outscore UConn. We know UConn is capable of being dominant on the defensive end with their rim protection and shot-blocking. Nevertheless, Miami has been riding the hot hand and will look to be snipers from beyond the three-point line. It wouldn’t be shocking to see this game go either way because each team has the ability to take over a game. The big question will be is if Miami can do enough on the defensive side of the ball to knock off the Huskies.
We think they will and Miami will take this one. To this point, they have looked like the best team in the NCAA Tournament knocking off No. 1 seed Houston, No. 2 Seed Texas, and No. 4 seed Indiana along the way. That is a tough road that has prepared them for this game. The Canes will step up in the biggest moments like they have all year and all tournament long. This one won’t come easy, but when push comes to shove they will get the job done.
Prediction: Miami wins 78-74

Championship Game
5. Miami Hurricanes vs5. San Diego State Aztecs
We have a battle of two No. 5 seeds in our championship game this year as the Aztecs’ defense will look to slow down the Miami offense. It has been a valiant effort by both teams this year, but in the end, there can only be one and we believe one of these teams is clearly superior. We expect the Canes to take this one. We were going to go with the winner of the UConn vs Miami game regardless as we view them as the two best teams left heading into the Final Four. Miami is just more well-rounded than San Diego State and they have more talent on their roster. At the end of the day, that will ultimately win out.
San Diego State will look to grind down Miami like they have been doing to teams all tournament long, but they won’t be able to. The Canes have enough on offense to get the job done and the Aztecs’ offense just won’t be able to keep up. The Miami Hurricanes will be crowned your NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions in 2023.
Prediction: Miami wins 76-68
