Week 2: Fantasy Basketball Trade Value Chart Features Harrison Barnes, Draymond Green

Will Desvallees Oct 26th 1:58 PM EDT.

NBA teams have each played approximately 3 games so far this season. In that time, the Trade Value Charts have seen a lot of action. Here are some targets to sell high and buy low going into the second week of NBA action. Make sure to take a look at our  Trade Analyzer to evaluate any trades you are sent, or just evaluate the fairness of a fantasy trade you wish to propose.

Guards

PG Spencer Dinwiddie, Washington Wizards

Dinwiddie has always been consistent on the court, but he’s not always been healthy. Now running the point for the Washington Wizards, Dinwiddie is off to a hot start this season and his trade value has surged +8.0 points, bringing his FSP player rating all the way up to 18.85 after this first week of 2021-22 NBA action. He is playing an average of 29 MPG with an average of 19 points and 7.0 assists per game. He blew up for a 34-point performance in Friday's game against the Pacers (6-9 from three-point range and 13-24 from the field). Bradley Beal missed the first second game of the season, which is partially why Dinwiddle erupted for 34 points in the second game of the season. With Bradley Beal back and almost 100% healthy, Dinwiddle struggled in Washington’s third game. He managed just 10 points on an atrocious 3-of-13 from the field. He did chip in six assists and five rebounds though. Considering Beal’s return and Dinwiddle’s recent surge to start the season, now is the perfect opportunity to sell high on the former Net. In Beal’s return, Dinwiddie had his worst game so far this season, which is why his +8.0 in trade value chart is not indicative of his skill set, but more so an indication of Bradley Beal’s absence.

PG Derrick Rose, New York Knicks

Derrick Rose is exceeding expectations across the board so far this season, yet his fantasy value shifted -1.6 points from last week. He is shooting lights out from both mid range and deep to kick off the season. Averaging 25 minutes per game, Rose has produced 14.7 PPG along with 5 AST and is converting field goals at a 45.7% clip. In contrast, Kemba Walker is averaging 10.3 PPG and 2.7 AST over the first three games of the season. Rose's value is seemingly rising every day. Again, this is very early on. However, Rose has exceeded expectations throughout the preseason and first few regular-season contests. Although his trade value is decreasing slightly in the charts, he could be a steal for anyone looking for an undervalued point guard who produces like a seasoned veteran consistently. The only source of concern picking up D-Rose is based on Kemba Walker's performance and production in the Knicks’ rotation. Walker has underproduced thus far, but he is expected to surge in production as the 10.3 points he is currently averaging are significantly below what the Knicks’ franchise was expecting when they acquired him during the offseason.

Wings

SF Harrison Barnes, Sacramento Kings

With Barnes, you have a veteran talent who just came off a 36-point game to kick off the season and who’s role as a Sacramento King has evolved into that of a leader. Barnes is off to a stellar start and is already getting All-Star nods. This is reflected in his trade value, which has soared +6.7 since last week. He’s averaging 36.7 MPG over the first three games for 28.3 points and 10.3 boards. He’s currently averaging a huge double-double, easily eclipsing the numbers produced by many big name NBA stars over the first three games. If you think Barnes will continue to produce at this level, you should consider targeting him in a trade. If you think that he may come back to Earth, now is the perfect time to sell high.

SF Cam Reddish, Atlanta Hawks

Reddish was injured for most of last season, limiting him to a total of 27 games. He's playing with a chip on his shoulder as a young NBA talent whose opportunities have been limited. Reddish is off to a hot start in Atlanta this season, earning him +5.7 points in the trade value chart. In 25.3 MPG so far this season, he's averaging 18.7 PPG, eclipsing his career average PPG of 11.0 by 7.7 points. Reddish was a former McDonald's All-American and was a promising pick for the Hawks. While injuries have slowed down his first years in the league, 2021-22 looks bright for Reddish so far. He could be a steal in an early trade this year and should be on people’s radar to buy low.

Bigs

PF/C Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors

During the 2015-2016 Season, Draymod averaged 14 PPG on 38.8% from beyond the arc. Since then, those numbers have steadily decreased season by season to 2020-2021. Last year, Green scored 7.0 PPG on 27% three-point shooting. This season, Green is off to a stronger start, averaging 10 PPG and 6.7 RPG through the season's first three games. This has earned Green +1.7 points in our trade value chart. We think this is a good opportunity to trade Green away for another big man with more upside.

The combination of Draymond's steadily decreasing production on offense over the last four seasons and the young talented players the Warriors are working hard to develop, Green’s prospects for this season from a fantasy perspective seem bleak. With the rookie talents Golden State has picked up over the last few years, the return of Klay Thompson, and hopefully a breakout year for SF Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green will have significantly less opportunities to take shots and contribute to the Warriors’ offense like he has over the past few seasons. Don’t forget that Green may not be as dominant on the defensive end of the ball when James Wiseman returns to the lineup. Last year’s second overall pick will be the man who anchors the paint on defense, and Green may see a dip in his block production.

C Steven Adams Memphis Grizzlies

Adams has always been a warrior on the court, and is off to a promising start in Memphis. Adams is smart with the basketball, and capable of producing without turning the ball over. Averaging 30.7 minutes per game through three games, Adams is averaging a double-double (13 PPG and 13 RPG). His trade chart value has increased by +3.9 points, reflecting his important role for Memphis this season. He’s off to a hot start, and he can certainly score more than he has thus far. With Jonas Valunciunas now in New Orleans, Memphis’ depth at the center position is limited. For that reason, Adams will keep logging about 30 minutes of action or more throughout the season. He is also a player who’s consistently healthy. Last season, he played 58 games and missed 14; the most in his playing career. He doesn't miss games. Adams is a strong big man who is consistently healthy and who is capable of recovering from milder injuries with ease. Serious, season-ending injuries have not been a problem for Adams since his rookie season in 2013. If you traded Draymond Green away and received Steven Adams, you'd be winning big.
