Outlook Gerrit Cole

Gerrit Cole dominates in his return to the rotation despite a minor bump in his latest start

Recently reinstated from the injured list, the veteran right-hander slots in as the number two starter in the rotation for the second-place Yankees (36-25). Over his first three outings, Cole has posted a sparkling 2.08 ERA and 0.92 WHIP across 17.3 innings. While he stumbled slightly against Cleveland yesterday, his overall presence gives a massive boost to the Yankees.

Cole's dominant return looks entirely legitimate, backed by his career track record of elite ratios and our projection of a 3.44 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. Though his early-season strikeout rate is slightly down, his velocity topped out at nearly 100 mph during his rehab, suggesting his elite swing-and-miss stuff is fully intact. Expect him to easily sustain frontline performance as he builds up stamina.

Having already pitched on June 3rd, Cole has no remaining starts during this current matchup period. He remains a premier must-start option for his next turn, meaning fantasy managers should comfortably lock him in. Keep him active on your roster as a high-end Start.
