Deep Depth Receiver Offers Negligible Fantasy Value in High-Powered Lions Offense

Tom Kennedy enters the season deeply buried on the Detroit Lions' wide receiver depth chart. Operating primarily as a depth option behind Jameson Williams on the outside, Kennedy will compete with the likes of Cedrick Wilson Jr. and Greg Dortch for limited snaps. Our projections expect almost no fantasy impact, forecasting just four receptions for 25 yards on the year.

At 29 years old, Kennedy has spent his career as a fringe roster player, occasionally popping up for active-game duty. He has only surpassed 100 receiving yards in a single season once, back in 2022. With Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta vacuuming up the vast majority of targets in Detroit's high-powered passing game, there is no clear path to volume for Kennedy.

Looking at the market, Kennedy's ADP has been highly volatile this summer, crashing from the mid-500s to a current position of 762. This stubborn stability at the bottom of drafts reflects his near-zero ownership and starting rates.
