Fantasy Football Week 7 Kicker Streamers: Andy Borregales, Andre Szmyt, and More
Three kickers with good matchups in Week 7 who are widely available in fantasy leagues.
Kicking is a funny game. For those who tuned into the Bears and Commanders game on Monday night, you were introduced to a familiar name: Jake Moody. When Bears kicker Cairo Santos couldn't go because of injury, the team activated Moody from the practice squad, and he made four of his five field goal attempts, including a game winner as the clock expired.
Moody was cut by the 49ers after he missed two field goals from under 40 yards in Week 1. That followed a 2024 season in which he struggled often. Kickers find a way to bounce back, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see Moody catch on somewhere. He was highly regarded coming out of college, so he has had success before; maybe all he needs is a little confidence.
Let's look at three kickers with good matchups in Week 7 who are widely available in fantasy leagues and can be picked up and inserted into your lineup. Most stats are from NFL.com.

Andy Borregales, New England Patriots @ Tennessee Titans
A sixth-round rookie out of Miami, Borregales missed a field goal in his first game and two extra points in his second game; it wasn't a great start. Kickers don't get a lot of chances, so if they miss the few they do have, they might be replaced before getting to prove themselves.
Borregales kept the job, and he hasn't missed a kick since, making four field goals and 12 extra points in the ensuing four games. He plays with a successful offense, as the Patriots are better than average in both total yards per game and points per game, so Borregales should get chances to score.
The matchup this week is what puts him on the fantasy radar. The Titans have allowed the 11th-most yards per game and seventh-most points per game. Even those totals come with games against subpar offensive teams, like the Texans, Cardinals, and Raiders.
After losing to Las Vegas on Sunday, Tennessee is 1-5 and has cemented themselves among the worst in the league. They are a team to go after with fantasy players at all positions, including kickers and defenses.
Borregales is in a good situation and has a positive matchup this week. That makes him a decent fantasy player if you need a fill-in, though he is only a one-week option with tougher matchups against the Browns and Falcons coming next.
Blake Grupe, New Orleans Saints @ Chicago Bears
I don't like going after kickers on bad offensive teams; there's always a chance they get shut out. The Saints have gained the ninth-fewest yards per game and scored the fifth-fewest points per game.
For Grupe, that would seem to mean a lack of opportunities, but he has actually gotten at least three field goal attempts in four of six games. Touchdowns are rarer, as Grupe has only kicked more than one extra point twice, but he ranks tied for fantasy K5 and has made four field goals in two straight games.
The matchup here is the real star, as the Bears have given up the sixth-most yards per game and sixth-most points per game. While Chicago did better work improving the offense this offseason, their moves on defense presented a lower floor and ceiling. That has played out early in the season.
Even with a low-level offense, Grupe has a chance to put together a good fantasy week. He has gotten opportunities, and the matchup against the Bears presents the chance for New Orleans to have a better day on offense.
Andre Szmyt, Cleveland Browns vs. Miami Dolphins
Szmyt is faced with the same problem as Grupe in that he plays in a poor offense. Cleveland is even worse than the Saints, gaining the sixth-fewest yards per game and scoring the fewest points per game.
That's almost enough to disqualify Szmyt from consideration; if the team never gets close enough to score, he'll never get a chance to kick the ball. He has only reached double-digit fantasy points once, and that came last week when he made three field goals.
That's the only time Szmyt has had more than two field goal attempts, and he hasn't kicked more than two extra points in any game. There is a low floor here, and many fantasy owners would feel easier with a player on a better team.
The matchup couldn't be much better, though: Miami has given up the third-most yards per game and the fourth-most points per game. From Week 1 when Indianapolis announced their presence, the Dolphins have regularly been beaten up on defense.
Miami has allowed at least 27 points in all but one game, and that one game was a 21-point effort by the winless Jets. This team is one of the most vulnerable, and even a low-level offense like Cleveland has a chance to find success.
Szmyt is only a low-level streamer, but the matchup is right if you are in a deep league or just find yourself without an option late in the week. Sometimes, it's fun to live on the edge, right?
