Welcome to my weekly FAAB report article for Fantasy Football. Every week I am going to go over my favorite additions at the WR and TE positions in both shallower leagues and deeper leagues and tell you how much FAAB you should be spending and why.

Want to make sure you don't waste your FAAB budget? Sync your fantasy teams with our Fantasy Assistant to access our Predictive Analytics, which predict the average winning FAAB bids for each week's hottest pickups BEFORE waivers are run, with accurate predictions landing each Tuesday!

Best Fantasy Football FAAB Pickups for Shallow Leagues (10 and 12 Teams)

WR Jahan Dotson, Washington Commanders

Although the Commanders lost to the Eagles in Week 8, they did score 31 points and they got a huge performance from their second-year WR. Dotson saw the second-most targets in the passing game and led the team in receptions and yards while scoring a TD. This may have been his breakout game this season so you should make sure to scoop him up this week for anywhere between 6-9% of your remaining budget.

WR K.J. Osborn, Minnesota Vikings

Before Kirk Cousins got hurt, I thought that Osborn was a priority add after his eight-catch, 99-yard performance which led Vikings pass catchers. Now that Cousins will be out for the remainder of the season, the state of the Vikings' passing game is in question, but for the next several weeks, Osborn will be the number two guy in the offense behind rookie Jordan Addison. This makes Osborn useful no matter who is playing QB and you should spend 5-7% of your remaining budget on him.

WR Jonathan Mingo, Carolina Panthers

The Panthers finally got a win this season and their rookie WR had his best receiving game of the year. This could be the start of a good stretch for the Mingo who was drafted to be the top guy in Carolina. He matches up against the Colts this week, a team that allowed 38 points in Week 8 and 39 points in Week 7. In your 10-team leagues, you may be better off waiting for Mingo to repeat his solid game, in 12-team leagues or more, he is worth 4-8% of your remaining budget.

TE Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals placed Zach Ertz on IR last week which opened the door for McBride to see more targets and snaps. The second-year man didn’t disappoint in his newfound opportunity, catching 10 passes on 14 targets for 95 yards and a TD. McBride saw more than twice as many targets as every other Cardinals except Hollywood Brown and could become a fixture in the passing game moving forward. I am bullish on him and think you will need to drop 13-18% of your remaining budget on him.

TE Logan Thomas, Washington Commanders

Thomas had a solid game in Week 8, catching six passes for 44 yards and a TD. He was third on the team in targets and has stayed healthy this season which has been difficult for him to do throughout his career. In Week 9, George Kittle, Evan Engram, and Sam LaPorta are all on their bye weeks, which means you probably need a fill-in if you roster any of them. Scoop Thomas up for less than 5% of your remaining budget.

Best Fantasy Football FAAB Pickups for Deep Leagues (14 and 16 Teams)

WR Alec Pierce, Indianapolis, Colts

The Colts are playing in high-scoring games, and the offense is putting up a lot of points with Gardner Minshew. Pierce is the WR3 on this team but in a pinch or the right matchup, you may need him as a flex option, so consider him this week in your 14 and 16-team leagues for anywhere between 4% and 6% of your budget.

TE Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Otton has been pretty inconsistent this season, but over the past two weeks he has nine catches compared to the 13 catches total he had in the previous five games. The Bucs cannot seem to run the football, which means they will continue to air it out and that bodes well for Otton. If you are in search of a TE over the next few weeks because of injury or byes, look at Otton and feel comfortable in spending 2-3% of your remaining budget.

TE Connor Heyward, Pittsburgh Steelers

He caught five of his six targets for 24 yards in the Steelers '20-10 loss to the Jaguars in Week 8. This is noteworthy because with Pat Freiermuth on IR, Heyward is going to continue to see a lot of snaps, and the fact that he was second on the team in targets speaks volumes to me about the confidence the Steelers have in him. If you are looking for a TE in a 16-team league, you could do worse, especially in Week 9 with Heyward taking on the 22nd-ranked pass defense of the Titans. Still, 5% is the max I’d spend, so don't go overboard.
