Fantasy Football QB/RB FAAB Report Week 8: How Much FAAB Are D'Onta Foreman, Gardner Minshew, Darrell Henderson Worth?

Lou Landers Oct 23rd 10:29 AM EDT.

Welcome to my weekly FAAB report article for Fantasy Football. Every week I am going to go over my favorite additions at the QB and RB positions in both shallower leagues and deeper leagues and tell you how much FAAB you should be spending and why.

Want to make sure you don't waste your FAAB budget? Sync your fantasy teams with our Fantasy Assistant to access our Predictive Analytics, which predict the average winning FAAB bids for each week's hottest pickups BEFORE waivers are run, with accurate predictions landing each Tuesday!

Best Fantasy Football FAAB Pickups for Shallow Leagues (10 and 12 Teams)

QB Desmond Ridder, Atlanta Falcons

Ridder is looking more comfortable in the passing game as the season has progressed. He also showed off his athleticism in the red zone with a rushing TD in Week 7. He has a solid matchup vs. a very average pass defense in the Titans in Week 8, and should be considered in any league where you can start two QBs. Spend 3-7% of your remaining budget.

RB D’onta Foreman, Chicago Bears

Foreman led the Bears' backfield in touches and yards per carry, and got the red zone carries. He converted his red zone carries into multiple TDs in Week 7 and saw targets in the passing game as well, scoring three total TDs. He did get injured in the fourth quarter of the Bears win, but it didn’t seem serious, and the Bears had a two-TD lead, so there was no reason to force Foreman back into the game. Even when the Bears backfield gets healthier, Foreman has a chance to continue to see work. He should be looked at as an RB2 in Week 8 against the Chargers. Spend 6-9% of your remaining budget.

QB Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis Colts

Minshew and the Colts faced the top defense in the NFL in Week 7, and although he turned the ball over a couple of times, he was exceptional in terms of fantasy football production. He was spreading the ball around and had two nice rushing TDs as well, and he will continue to be a solid option in leagues where you can start 2 QBs. Spend 5-8% of your remaining budget.

RB Kareem Hunt, Cleveland Browns

There is no doubt that when Jerome Ford is healthy, he is the lead back for the Browns. Ford was explosive and looked excellent in Week 7 before leaving the game with an ankle injury. Whether or not Ford misses time, Hunt has carved out a really nice role in the offense and is fantasy-relevant once again. Hunt was particularly good in the red zone, scoring two TDs,  one coming out of the wildcat formation. He is a good backup bid to Foreman this week, and you can get him for under 5% of your remaining FAAB. If Ford's injury will force him to miss time, bump Hunt up to the priority add at RB and spend 10-13% of your remaining budget.

Best Fantasy Football FAAB Pickups for Deep Leagues (14 and 16 Teams)

QB P.J. Walker, Cleveland Browns

Deshaun Watson was injured in the first half of the Week 7 game vs. the Colts, and considering he entered the week with injury concerns, it looks like he may miss time again. This puts Walker into a starting role, and he needs to be considered in deeper super flex and 2-QB leagues. He is a short-term addition though, so don’t spend more than 2-4% of your remaining budget.

RB Ezekiel Elliott, New England Patriots

The Patriots' offense has been so bad this season that Zeke has basically been rendered useless in fantasy. In Week 7, though, he found the end zone, and there is a strong possibility that he will be traded this week before the trade deadline. He is worth a pickup in leagues where he’s available, especially if he ends up going to a better offense and contending team. Spending 4-7% of your remaining budget should get it done without breaking the bank.

QB Tyson Bagent, Chicago Bears

The undrafted rookie QB filled in for the injured Justin Fields in Week 7 and was surprisingly good. Fields has a hand injury that might keep him out longer than just a week, so Bagent could be an interesting player in your deeper Superflex leagues. He and P.J. Walker are simply short-term options on whom you should spend no more than 3-4% of your remaining budget.

RB Darrell Henderson, Los Angeles Rams

With Kyren Williams placed on IR, the Rams will be looking for a RB over the next several weeks. Henderson has experience in this offense, which is why I prefer him as the guy to pick up this week. If you’re like me and you believe Henderson will be the lead guy for the Rams over the next three or four games, then spend 8-10% of your remaining FAAB on him. Veteran back Royce Freeman also saw touches in this game and should be considered as well.
