Top Running Back Waiver Pickups for Week 11
This week the options at running back are quite good considering it is Week 11. Chances are, you probably have a good shot at getting some of these guys because of teams giving up in your league.
This week's top waiver wire running backs are led by Jamaal Williams and feature yet another Patriot running back.
Jamaal Williams, Green Bay Packers | 6% OWN
The Packers are facing yet another set of key injuries, but this time it affects their running backs. Both Ty Montgomery and Aaron Jones both got hurt in Week 10. Jones is definitely out around 3 to 6 weeks with an MCL injury. However Montgomery still has a chance to play in Week 11 after aggravating his ribs injury.
Even if Montgomey does play, there is a chance he may face limited reps and give most of the workload over to Jamaal Williams.
The Ravens give up the 13th most points to running backs and are having a tough time passing, so picking up Williams sounds like a no-brainer for Week 11 and possibly more moving forward.
Danny Woodhead, Los Angeles Chargers | 58% OWN
Woodhead is inching ever so closer to a return for the Chargers after suffering a hamstring injury way back in Week 1. Woodhead has started practicing with the team again and his status for Week 11 is up in the air.
Our guess is that he won't play in Week 11, but this would be your best chance to snatch him off waivers before it is too late. Everyone knows Woodhead is a perfect play for PPR leagues and once he's healthy he should be able to be a pretty reliable RB2 or FLEX option.
Rex Burkhead, New England Patriots | 20% OWN
The Patriots running back carousal continues to spin round and round this season and this time Burkhead is looking to be the guy with the most opportunities.
Burkhead rushed 10 times for 36 yards and caught 3 passes for 27 yards and a touchdown. Dion Lewis lead the team with 14 touches, but Burkhead was a close second with 13 total touches.
Right now it looks like Burkhead and Lewis will be leading the Patriots in total touches.
Playing Burkhead is still a bit risky because you never know what will happen week-to-week. Patriots could easily ride the hot-hand or form a game-plan featuring James White and you might be stuck with 2 points from your RB2.
