Jacob Faria is a hot waiver pickup

Brant Tedeschi Jun 15th 3:45 PM EDT.

Jacob Faria has two starts so far this season and looked extremely impressive in both starts for the Tampa Bay Rays. He picked up two wins and two quality starts already.

Faria has pitched 12.2 innings for a 13/3 K/BB and a 9.2 K/9 with a 1.42 ERA and .95 WHIP. Those are lights out numbers and he has already increased in ownership up to 53%.

Joey Gallo moved to clean-up spot in lineup

Brant Tedeschi May 4th 4:46 PM EDT.

Joey Gallo is moving into the cleanup spot in the Rangers lineup. Gallo is one of the team's most productive hitters so far this season and is leading the team in home runs with 8.

This move also means that the team's previous 4 and 5 hitters, Rougned Odor and Mike Napoli, will be moved around. Odor will move into the 2 spot and Napoli will drop down to the 7 spot in the order.

Gary Sanchez expected to be out four weeks

Brant Tedeschi Apr 10th 4:52 PM EDT. Edited 4:52 PM.

New York Yankees young phenom Gary Sanchez is expected to be out four weeks with a "Grade 1 strain of a muscle behind the biceps", according to Bryan Hoch.

This is a big blow to the Yankees who is their most exciting player to watch and most productive since being called up to the majors last season. Prior to this injury, Sanchez didn't have much time to get going and currently heads to the DL sporting a .150 avg, 1 hr, 2 rbi, and 1 run.

Zach Britton overcomes injury scare to close out Yankees

Brant Tedeschi Apr 7th 10:35 PM EDT.

Zach Britton was pitching in the ninth when fielding a comebacker to the mound by Sanchez. The ball did not hit him, but he was grimacing afterwards and may have tweaked his knee while bending down awkwardly to field the grounder.

After throwing out Sanchez at first base, the trainer was called out but Britton indicated that he was okay. He then promptly closed out the Yankees a few minutes later.

Brant Tedeschi Apr 7th 9:52 PM EDT. Edited 9:53 PM.

Brandon Belt has had a monster game against the Padres, hitting a Grand Slam in the top of the 6th inning and a solo home run in the 8th.

Belt was red hot today and finished with 5 RBI and 2 RUNS. His big day boasted his batting average to 286. He is leading the Giants in home runs (3) and RBI (7) in this early season.

CC Sabathia is worthy of a waiver pickup

Brant Tedeschi Apr 5th 3:40 PM EDT.

Coming into the 2017 season, expectations were pretty low for CC Sabathia. While he did end last year on a pretty good run, he still ended up sporting a 3.91 ERA and 1.32 WHIP.

Sabathia started the 2017 campaign pitching solid against the Rays and ended the game with 5 innings, two strikeouts, and two walks while giving up no runs.

Andre Iguodala out vs Mavericks

Brant Tedeschi Mar 21st 2:17 PM EDT.

The Golden State Warriors will be without Andre Iguodala tonight versus the Dallas Mavericks due to a "left hip stain", according to the official Warriors twitter feed.

More of the burden will fall on Patrick McCaw and Matt Barnes to pick up his roughly 30 minutes that Iguodala normally plays.

Jeremy Lin putting up solid numbers

Brant Tedeschi Mar 18th 2:24 PM EDT.

Jeremy Lin is getting enough minutes to make an impact for the Nets and most fantasy teams who took a chance on him.

In Lin's last 3 games, he's averaged 25.7 MPG (tied 3rd on the team), with 16.3 points, 6.3 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 1 steal while shooting 43.2% from the field.

Seahawks sign Eddie Lacy

Brant Tedeschi Mar 14th 6:59 PM EDT.

The Green Bay Packers just lost their best running back, Eddie Lacy, to free agency. The deal is for $5.5 million for just one year.

There is no official word if Ty Montgomery will be the Packers full-time back or not, but this move certainly adds depth to the Seattle Seahawks backfield.
