Kelly Olynyk, potential waiver pickup
Kelly Olynyk has quietly making a case for a starting role for the Boston Celtics.
In Olynyk's past two games he has averaged 20.5 points, 3.5 assists, 8.5 rebounds, 1 steals while shooting 75% from the field. During that same time-frame, he is 6th on the team in minutes per game with 29, which is up 8 minutes compared to his season average.
Olynyk has always been part of Boston's rotation but lately the coaches have been asking a little bit more from Olynyk and he has delivered the past two games.
Asked why Olynyk has played better of late, Stevens said, “Skill. I mean, he didn’t do anything for six months, as far as playing, and then you throw him into the NBA and that’s how he’s getting his feet wet again. But I think he’s a good fit with Al (Horford). I think he’s a good fit when Al’s on the bench. It’s hard not to have one of those guys that stretches the 3-point line on the floor all the time.”
Olynyk is currently available in 55% of fantasy leagues and has had a huge jump in OWN percentage after his past two games. Now would be a good time to jump on the bandwagon if he's still available.
