Taylor Dominates Late Innings as High-Leverage Role Expands
Taylor has been absolutely lights-out lately, posting a perfect 0.00 ERA and an elite 0.50 WHIP with 12 strikeouts over his last 8.0 innings. His dominant run has been a savior for the first-place White Sox, who lead the AL Central at 36-31 but are dealing with a heavily depleted bullpen with Jordan Hicks and Tyler Gilbert on the injured list. Though Seranthony Domínguez remains the primary closer, Taylor's high-leverage role continues to grow.
Taylor's stellar 1.96 ERA and 1.12 WHIP over 32.1 innings this season is a major step up from his 4.91 ERA in 2025. While our models expect his ratios to drift slightly toward a 3.32 ERA and 1.18 WHIP rest of season, his incredible 14.30 K/9 rate proves his high-strikeout stuff is entirely real. Expect him to remain an elite fantasy asset even if his current scoreless streak eventually ends.
The White Sox close out their series with Atlanta on Thursday before welcoming the Dodgers to town for a weekend set. While these matchups against elite lineups are tough, Taylor's high-strikeout upside and potential for holds or vulture saves make him highly valuable in all formats.
