Week 13 QB and TE Waiver Adds: Jordan Love, Pat Freiermuth, Isaiah Likely, and More!

Happy Monday! The fantasy playoffs are right around the corner, and you still have a chance to make one last push -- or hopefully expand your lead in the standings. And a big part of making up some ground is making sure you make the right waiver moves.

With running backs and wide receivers coming in a separate article, let's take a look at the quarterbacks and tight ends you should be scooping off the waiver wire for Week 13.

Explore the best in-season tool to manage lineup/start decisions including predictive waiver analytics to help prioritize waiver pickups, projections, auction values, trade suggestions, trade value charts, rest of season rankings, power rankings, and tons more with Fantasy Assistant.

Quarterback

(ownership percentages are based on ESPN leagues)

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers (48.0 percent)

Love is a little higher than the threshold I like to use for waiver guys, but I don't think anyone wants me writing about Bailey Zappe or Aiden O'Connell (you shouldn't pick up either, for the record). While you probably saw him do this while you were eating turkey, it's worth repeating that Jordan Love looked really good on Thursday. And more importantly, he's looked really good lately and is now QB10 on the year in terms of fantasy points scored. He's put up back-to-back 20 point performances and has really only had one bad week all year (back in Week 5). With games against the Chiefs, Giants, Bucs, and Panthers on tap -- Love is setting up like a QB1 for the fantasy playoffs.

Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints (22.9 percent)

While I'm not sure I'll ever trust Derek Carr, it's always worth looking ahead and Carr has three home (read: Dome) games coming up against the Lions, Panthers, and Giants. Coming off a 300-yard performance agains the Falcons (also in a dome), Carr won't have the elements to worry about and should be able to put up fantasy points against all three of those defenses. Carr's upside is a tad limited as he's yet to put up 20 fantasy points in a game all year, but he's consistently been able to post high-end QB2 numbers when healthy and will be a solid streaming option down the stretch.

Jake Browning, Cincinnati Bengals (5.4 percent)

We're digging deep here, but those of you in deeper leagues need some love too. While Browning didn't have the best fantasy performance against the Steelers on Sunday, it's worth noting that he's been able to put up double-digit fantasy points against two of the best defenses in the league. With a favorable schedule of Jacksonville, Indianapolis, and Minnesota coming up, Browning should be able to continue putting up QB2 numbers and even has a little bit of upside as Tee Higgins should be back from injury soon.

Tight End

(ownership percentages are based on ESPN leagues)

Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers (41.9 percent)

As of Monday morning, Freiermuth is TE1 on the week after putting up nine catches for 120 yards on 11 targets. Aberation? Maybe. But it's also worth taking the plunge as this was the Steelers' first game without Matt Canada calling plays so it's possible we could see Freiermuth featured more moving forward. Plus, tight end is a dumpster fire so he's an auto-add if he's available on your waiver wire. With games against the Cardinals, Patriots, and Colts on tap, Freiermuth could be a league-winner add.

Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens (31.8 percent)

He wasn't quite Mark Andrews, but Likely filled in for the star tight end ably on Sunday with four catches for 40 yards on six targets. While that's not exactly massive production, it was good enough for high-end TE2 production that leaves some upside as the Ravens continue to integrate the second-year player into their now Andrews-less scheme. With Likely probably seeing 6-8 targets per game moving forward, he has the potential to be a TE1 from week-to-week after the Ravens are off their Week 13 bye (which also means you might not have a lot of competition for him on the waiver wire this week).

Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints (8.3 percent)

Similar to Browning above, we're digging a little deeper here with Johnson. Johnson put up similar numbers to Likely with four catches for 45 yards on seven targets as Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed left the game due to injury. If either (or both) players miss time, Johnson should continue to see similar 6-8 target usage and could play his way into being a weekly TE1 down the home stretch.
