Justin Edwards - Philadelphia 76ers
Edwards is rostered in 43% of leagues right now. He was up over 50% the past couple days.
Edwards has been starting and playing a healthy amount for Philly, but with Paul George expected back from his suspension on Wednesday, Edwards is being dropped today.
Edwards also only scored eight points in his last game. He was in double figures in five straight games before that, including a 32-point outburst two contests ago.
So it makes sense to see Edwards being dropped today. I'd agree with dropping him, especially in standard leagues. He still could play and produce enough to be worth rostering/utilizing in deeper leagues, but you'll want to be watching his statlines closely.
Nique Clifford - Sacramento Kings
Clifford is sitting at 44% owned right now. He was rostered in over 50% of leagues the two days before.
Clifford has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Hornets. He was injured in Sunday's game, suffering a foot injury. He started and played 26 minutes in that contest, and missed the game before that.
It's a shame to have to consider dropping Clifford, as he's been pretty good over his past 25 contests. Over that stretch, he's averaging 11.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.4 blocks over 32.8 minutes a contest.
He was a good deep-league asset and was getting some run in standard leagues. If he's not playing, he shouldn't be held in standard leagues, unless you can stash him on an IR spot. He's worth tracking, but until he's back and producing, Clifford's run in standard leagues might be over.
Neemias Queta - Boston Celtics
Queta is owned in about 73% of leagues right now after being over 80% yesterday (and several days before that).
Nikola Vucevic has been out with a finger injury, so you'd think that Queta would be producing more in more minutes. Well, he's only scored in double figures twice over the past five games and three times over the past 10 contests.
In that 10-game stretch, Queta is averaging 8.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.8 blocks and 0.7 steals over 26.1 minutes a contest. The points and rebounds are solid, but nothing spectacular.
Those are some good deep-league numbers, but not worth standard league utilization across the board. So I agree with fantasy owners dropping Queta in standard leagues today. I'd keep dropping him until his production bounces back, but also be willing to add him back as a standard league streamer if he gets back on track.
Kyle Filipowski - Utah Jazz
Filipowski is down to 77% rostered right now. He has been over 80%, and closer to 90%, over the past couple weeks.
He's taken on a bigger role for Utah with a few big men out of action with injuries. Filipowski started the team's last game, but only played 18 minutes. So fantasy owners are choosing to drop Filipowski today.
Filipowski still scored 12 points in his last outing, and he got up 14 shots, so it might have just been an off shooting night for him. He added six rebounds, four assists and one block and steal, so it was still a decent fantasy outing.
I still like rostering/utilizing Filipowski in standard leagues - maybe just not as many as before. He could bounce back in his next game, so also be ready to re-add him if he gets dropped in your league.
Keep holding and utilizing Filipowski in deeper leagues, even if he keeps producing at lower levels. He's a ways off from being a deep-league droppable player.
Nicolas Claxton - Brooklyn Nets
Claxton is rostered in about 68% of leagues right now - he's been near or over 80% for the past month-plus.
Claxton was out on Sunday with a rest designation. He hasn't been producing much of late anyways, tallying 12 points, 13 rebounds and one assist and block over the past two contests. So it makes sense to see him being dropped today.
He's been a pretty solid fantasy asset all season, but at the most important time of the year, Claxton hasn't done too much. That makes him droppable.
Keep holding Claxton in deeper leagues, and that might remain the case for the remainder of the season. He could be let go in standard leagues, but should be watched in case he starts delivering more again. I'm all for adding/dropping players at the most critical juncture of the fantasy season, and right now, Claxton is more droppable than someone to utilize.
