Rookie Power Runner Emerging as High-Upside San Francisco Stash

Selected in the third round by the 49ers, Kaelon Black has quickly generated momentum after overcoming an early-August adductor injury. With Christian McCaffrey nursing an absence in camp, Black showcased his power and pass protection with the first-team unit, positioning himself alongside Jordan James in the battle for reserve touches.

Our models project Black to post 365 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 98 carries, adding nine receptions for 75 yards and an additional score (76.0 PPR points). While standalone volume will remain limited behind an elite starter, his bruising running style fits San Francisco's scheme cleanly.

In draft markets, Black's ADP slipped past 400 during his injury layoff before steadily rebounding toward 370 following impressive scrimmage showings. At an ownership rate under 10%, Black is an overlooked late-round stash who offers enormous contingent value if the backfield hierarchy shifts.
