Elite RB1 Ceiling Unshaken Entering 2026 Campaign

Anchoring San Francisco's offense as the undisputed lead back ahead of Kaelon Black, Christian McCaffrey remains fantasy football's premier dual-threat weapon. Coming off an electric 2025 campaign featuring 109 receptions, our projections slate him for another dominant workload, forecasting 270 carries, 1,135 rushing yards, and 75 catches.

Minor muscle tightness caused a brief scare in mid-August, but his missed practice time was strictly planned load management to preserve his health. McCaffrey has since resumed practicing without setbacks, dispelling hold-in rumors and reaffirming his indispensable role in Kyle Shanahan's scheme.

Drafters haven't flinched, keeping his PPR draft cost stubbornly anchored at fifth overall despite a momentary dip to pick 10. Our models project 339 fantasy points and 17 total scores, cementing his mid-first-round price tag as a blue-chip anchor rather than an overvalued reach.
