Outlook Jake McCarthy

Jake McCarthy offers elite speed upside to close out the week

McCarthy has provided a reliable spark at the plate, hitting .280 with two home runs, four steals, and seven runs over his last 14 games. Even with the last-place Rockies sitting at 55-90 on a three-game losing streak, he remains firmly entrenched as Colorado's everyday left fielder. His quickness on the basepaths continues to create scoring chances, highlighted by swiping three bags over his last five contests.

The veteran outfielder has thoroughly outpaced our pre-season projections, compiling 15 home runs, 29 stolen bases, and a strong .290 average over 130 games. While a dip to a .243 mark over the past 30 days showed slight fatigue, his underlying power jump and high-end sprint speed ensure his category-winning upside is genuine.

Looking at the remaining four road games this week, McCarthy draws a tough Thursday matchup against Yankees ace Max Fried and his 2.80 ERA. However, the slate improves considerably this weekend in Detroit against Framber Valdez (4.23 ERA) and Jackson Jobe (4.45 ERA), presenting ample opportunities to run. Keep him active across all formats. Start.

Outlook Aaron Judge

Aaron Judge returns to Yankees lineup with immediate power upside

Aaron Judge finally returned from a three-month stay on the 60-day injured list, going 2-for-7 with a run scored across his first two contests back. He immediately reclaimed his role as the everyday right fielder for the second-place Yankees (83-62), who are riding a two-game win streak. With key lineup pieces like Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Giancarlo Stanton sidelined, Judge's presence in the heart of the order is paramount.

Despite missing significant time, Judge has still clubbed 17 homers with an .899 OPS across 61 appearances this season. While his .249 batting average sits below our .300 projected mark, his plate discipline and batted-ball authority remain among the sport's finest. There is no reason to doubt his production moving forward, as his track record indicates he will quickly perform like a top-tier fantasy asset.

The Yankees wrap up a homestand with four remaining matchups this week, starting tonight against Rockies starter Ryan Feltner and his 6.04 ERA. A weekend series against the Mets follows, presenting one stiff challenge versus Nolan McLean (3.06 ERA) alongside favorable spots against Zac Thornton (3.86 ERA) and Christian Scott (3.99 ERA). Judge is an automatic fantasy activation across all formats. Start.

  • Can't be doing much worse than he is right now. Failing to live up to expectations is one thing, but playing this bad is another.
  • In the past two weeks he has had an awful lot of time off. Either he isn't an every day player or he is coming back from an injury of some sort. I suggest checking out his news page to get a closer look.
