Otto Lopez's Bat Stays Red Hot, Making Him a Must-Start Middle Infield Option

Otto Lopez is on an absolute tear at the plate, hitting .409 over the last seven days and .330 over the past 30 days. His hot bat has been a bright spot for the fourth-place Marlins, who currently sit at 33-35. Lopez remains entrenched as Miami's primary everyday shortstop.

Although his current .338 season average is spectacular, our models project regression toward a more realistic .260 mark, aligning closer to his .246 career average from last season. Still, with 11 stolen bases already, his speed and contact profile make him a viable fantasy asset even as his hit rate normalizes.

The remaining schedule features a favorable matchup today against Arizona's Merrill Kelly and his high 5.71 ERA before a weekend series in Pittsburgh.
