Identifying some droppable fantasy basketball players in the sixth week of the season.
After going over some fantasy basketball waiver wire options, let's look at players trending the other direction. I call those droppable players.

Should You Drop Quentin Grimes?
Grimes has been dropped in 4% of leagues, bringing his overall mark down to 81%.
He has started two games in a row, but only provided eight points, four assists and three rebounds over 27 minutes in his last outing. That's why he's being let go today.
Grimes is averaging 16.2 points, 4.1 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks over 31.7 minutes a game. He's started twice over 17 games. Grimes is shooting 44.6% overall and is 38% from 3-point land.
There's enough in those numbers for ownership in all deep leagues and most standard leagues, but he needs to consistently produce to stick in those standard leagues. It makes sense to see him being dropped after that kind of performance.
The fantasy owners that can absorb some down showings here and there should continue to roster Grimes, as I think he's here to stay as a pretty good fantasy asset. Those that need the roster spot to be consistently contributing might be better off replacing Grimes.
Assess your situation and see what makes sense for you. Grimes might be scooped up after you let him go, so maybe try trading him first.
Should You Drop Kevin Porter Jr.?
Porter is also down 4%, and now is rostered in 50% of leagues.
Porter played in the season-opening game for the Bucks, but was hurt in that contest. He picked up another injury on his way back, and still hasn't played. However, he was assigned to the G-League, so he's ramping up and should be back soon.
Porter started for the Bucks in the first game, but Ryan Rollins has starred while replacing him, so it'll be interesting to see how Milwaukee handles the lineup. Either way, the Bucks need more help, so Porter and Rollins should keep playing healthy roles, whether they are starting or coming off the bench.
Porter is someone to add in deeper leagues if he's available in those leagues. I'd do that before reading any more.
If you have a roster spot to play with in a standard league, then stashing Porter for a couple days makes sense to me. Give it a week or so after he returns before making any sweeping judgements with him.
I wouldn't be dropping him in any leagues right now, but instead be looking to scoop him up given that he's nearing a return.
Should You Drop Andre Drummond?
Drummond is rostered in 73% of leagues after being let go by 5.3% of owners.
Drummond was a drop candidate I covered last week after a down game, and he just posted another on Tuesday, so that's two down showings in three tries, making him worth covering again.
He battled some foul trouble and also picked up a technical foul, and only ended up playing 22 minutes on Tuesday. Drummond only had three points, 12 rebounds and two blocks in his time on the floor.
Drummond is a solid double-double threat when he gets to 28 minutes. He has a double-double in each game he's eclipsed that time.
That double-double upside makes him a good fantasy asset, but after two down showings in three tries, fantasy owners are starting to bail on him again.
I still like the idea of utilizing Drummond, but he's probably a better standard league streamer, at least in most setups. Some desperate for big man help should continue to hold Drummond, but be searching for another option in the meantime.
You could look to trade Drummond, but his value is down, so really it's a better time to buy low on him than it is to trade him away. Don't write him off either, as I still see him being a good fantasy asset for an oft-injured 76ers' team.
Should You Drop Neemias Queta?
Queta is down 2.9% and is now owned in 60% of fantasy leagues.
He sprained his left ankle on Sunday, so he's likely going to miss a little time. It's fair to drop him, especially if you don't have IR spots to throw him in.
In 17 games (all starts), he's averaging 9.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.4 blocks and 0.6 steals over 23.6 minutes. He's shooting 62.8% overall.
It's great that he's starting, but he's not playing enough for ownership in all fantasy leagues. He is a pretty solid streaming option for standard league owners most nights, but he also needs to be available for that to happen.
Drop Queta if you need his roster spot in a standard league, but hang on to him in deeper leagues. You should have enough roster spots to get by without a player of his caliber for a couple weeks.
Should You Drop Nickeil Alexander-Walker?
Alexander-Walker is rostered in 93% of leagues - he was over 95% yesterday.
He produced just eight points, four assists and two rebounds over 32 minutes in his last game. Alexander-Walker had scored in double figures in every other game up to that point.
Alexander-Walker is averaging 18.6 points, 3.6 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 0.9 blocks and steals over 31.9 minutes so far this season. He is shooting 46% overall and is 35.8% from deep.
His scoring accounts for most of his fantasy value, but he does enough else to be rostered in most leagues. Alexander-Walker is maybe a touch overrated looking at his season averages though, even though that consistency is valuable too.
I'd be more inclined to trade Alexander-Walker than I would be to drop him outright. He's valuable enough to land you a decent player in return, and probably someone better than you'd find on the waiver wire.
If he gets dropped in your league, consider adding him over someone near the end of your bench. I expect him to bounce back in his next game, and to remain a solid fantasy asset, even after Trae Young returns from his injury.
Should You Drop Jaime Jaquez Jr.?
Jaquez is owned in 94% of leagues at the moment - he's been as high as 97%.
He has a hip injury, but hasn't missed any time and might not miss any either. I don't really know why he's being dropped, because this injury doesn't look to be anything too serious. Even if he ends up missing a couple games, I'd keep rostering him.
Jaquez has come off the bench for all 18 of the Miami games so far, but he's averaging 30.4 minutes a night. He's also averaging 16.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks per contest, while shooting 52.7% overall and 20% from deep.
Jaquez has bounced back from a down 2024-25 season, and has improved greatly across the board from his rookie year in 2023-24. He's a pretty well-rounded player, and probably should already be rostered in all leagues.
Don't drop him, but instead look to add the Heat forward.
