Veteran Red-Zone Weapon Poised for High-Value Role in San Francisco

Mike Evans enters his debut season with the 49ers operating as a starting perimeter weapon alongside Deebo Samuel Sr. and tight end George Kittle. With injuries thinning the receiver room—including Christian Kirk on injured reserve—quarterback Brock Purdy will rely heavily on Evans' veteran route running and signature red-zone dominance.

Draft sentiment has cooled noticeably following minor training camp quad and groin issues. Evans saw his ADP tumble from pick 59 in late July down into the mid-90s. While fantasy managers have grown cautious about his durability, our models view this steep market slide as a prime value opportunity.

Season-Ending Knee Injury Derails Promising Year Two Breakout

Jayden Higgins will miss the entire 2026 season after suffering a torn ACL during joint practices in August. Following an encouraging 2025 rookie campaign where he produced 45 receptions, 563 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns across 18 games, the second-year receiver had built serious momentum in training camp before landing on injured reserve.

With Higgins sidelined for the year, Houston acted quickly to reconstruct its pass-catching corps behind top target Nico Collins. The Texans acquired Kayshon Boutte via trade and added veteran reinforcements, leaving Higgins with zero projected snaps as he shifts focus toward a full recovery for 2027.

In fantasy drafts, Higgins maintained a steady ADP around pick 125 throughout the summer before plummeting past pick 219 following the injury news. Our projections expect zero fantasy points from him this season, making him off-limits in all redraft leagues and strictly a dynasty stash on injured reserve.
