INTERCEPTED! 🙌 Chase Hansen catches the tipped pass and takes it 44 yards the other way! 💪 📺: FOX-8 pic.twitter.com/wkCvDZBjy2

Actually 15 offensive snaps for Saints rookie WR Chris Olave. Just one catch for 4 yards on one target. But that's too small of a sample size to worry about. As @nick_underhill has pointed out, he's been the most targeted pass catcher in camp so far. twitter.com/matt_theking8/…

We'll have to ask what happened on that snap but obviously not the start that Ian Book wanted as he now pairs a fumble with an interception.

Going to be interesting to see how Abram Smith's fumble is viewed. Had some solid work until coughing up. He has time to fix it. Remember when Callaway had a couple mistakes late in the 2020 camp and still made the team. Not everything comes down to one or two plays.

Really tough drop there by Tre'Quan Smith. Can't have that when there's a battle for snaps.

As the preseason kicks off, this is an opportunity for many to realize their dreams of being NFL players. On strong rosters like the New Orleans Saints, those chances can be slim. The wide receiver room is a prime example in New Orleans. With Michael Thomas, Jarvis Landry, Chris Olave and Deonte Harty all seemingly locks, there may only be one spot remaining for a slew of talented pass-catches. But that won’t stop the remaining wideouts from doing everything that they can to turn their dream into reality. Here are ten players, including some of those receivers, who need a big game on the road against the Houston Texans to keep their NFL ambitions alive

John Parker Romo boots a 36-yd FG to give the #Saints a 13-10 lead with 12:26 left in the game pic.twitter.com/ii0qT5niKA

Kevin White could have made a strong statement for a roster spot there with a tackle. Still notable that he's the first-team gunner tonight.

Tony Jones Jr. is quickly becoming one of the #Saints' all-time preseason greats.

Saints CB Brian Allen the latest victim of "This preseason game giveth ... and taketh away"

James Hurst and Landon Young are the starting tackles

Saints CB Paulson Adebo was a candidate for camp MVP in the first two weeks -- then follows up with a big-time recognition and tackle on their opening 3-and-out at Houston.

Both defenders were behind Juwan Johnson, as he ran a hitch, on that play. Book just skied it.

Trevor Penning does not have a problem with finishing a play.

Kirk Merritt was first WR in after Tre'Quan, Callaway and Olave

Payton Turner to @SeanFazendeFOX8 on the pregame show: "If you don't have any fights in camp, it probably wasn't a good camp." #Saints

Obviously I haven't had the luxury of reviewing every snap, but some guys who may have helped themselves on Saints roster bubble tonight: LBs Chase Hansen, Eric Wilson S Justin Evans RB Tony Jones Jr. RB Dwayne Washington (if he's even on bubble since he's such a ST staple)

Saints QB pecking order is obvious: Winston, Dalton, Book ... But Book's task this preseason will be to prove he can be the backup in event of a Winston or Dalton injury -- as opposed to Taysom Hill or a veteran not on the current roster. Book still has time, but a tough start.

Saints OL is Trevor Penning, Ethan Greenidge, Nick Martin, Calvin Throckmorton, and Landon Young

Second series for the defensive: PJ Williams and Marcus Maye the safeties. Ellis, Hansen, Wilson the LBs

Looks like Ryan Nielsen is calling plays for the defense

Dwayne Washington is getting the start at RB tonight. He's looked pretty good in camp, and he said he's as confident now as he's ever been.

Taco Charlton and Tanoh Kpassagnon in at DE right now. Payton Turner and Carl Granderson still have their helmets on.

Nice job by Washington following blocks set up by Andrus Peat and Erik McCoy to score from nine yards out on a screen. McCoy might've covered 20 yards on that play, lol twitter.com/ByLukeJohnson/…

Really impressive pre-season debut for Texans rookie, Dameon Pierce (@IRep229): ðŸˆ5 carries ðŸˆ49 yards ðŸˆ9.8 YPC pic.twitter.com/bqlQaIfHe2

No longer in pads for tonight's game for Texans: Laremy Tunsil, Rex Burkhead, Brandin Cooks, Teagan Quitoriano, Justin Britt, Jerry Hughes, Derek Stingley Jr.

The emasculation of Jack Easterby continues. For the first time since the Texans hired him in 2019, he's not on the sideline during games. He's been kicked upstairs, but he won't be wearing a headset to communicate with Lovie Smith and Pep Hamilton.

Texans rookie safety Jalen Pitre so far tonight: team-high five tackles, four solos, one for a loss

Texans expected to rest several veteran players against Saints, including Laremy Tunsil and Rex Burkhead, per league source. Texans rookie Derek Stingley Jr., won't play as a precautionary measure, but he's healthy Kyle Allen out after testing positive for COVID, per sources

Texans take the lead on a touchdown catch by Johnny Johnson III, an undrafted rookie wide receiver, on a throw by Jeff Driskel.

Texans CB Derek Stingley, the former LSU star and No. 3 pick in the 2022 draft, is in uniform tonight.

Second-year WR Jalen Camp (6-2, 220) is having an excellent training camp. That 4-yard TD pass from Driskel in which he went high to make the catch is an example of what he's been doing in camp.

Sack for Texans undrafted rookie defensive tackle Kurt Hinish @Truk_sauce who's making a strong impression on the coaching staff early in the preseason. Ogbo Okoronkwo pressure is a big factor tonight

Injured players not expected to play: Kenyon Green (knee), Garret Wallow (ankle), Christian Harris (hamstring), Antony Auclair (sprained knee)

Plays like this will help Jalen Camp make his case.
With 11:54 to go in the second quarter, Houston Texans quarterback Jeff Driskel threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Camp to cap off a five-play, 47-yard drive that was setup by a New Orleans Saints turnover. With Ka’imi Fairbairn’s extra point, the Texans took a 10-7 lead at NRG Stadium
