Brock Purdy's family has not traveled to many 49ers games this season, but it made plans to travel to this one today well in advance because of…Tom Brady. Now it will get to see Brady – and Brock make his first NFL start vs. the QB they planned to travel to see.

Leonard Fournette stonewalled Jimmie Ward — he saved Tom Brady but looked to knock the wind out of Ward. Brick wall
Scoring on that play? Chris Godwin: 1 target, 1 drop Russell Gage: 0 target, 1 rec TD
Rachaad White loses a fumble and 49ers recover, so now three turnovers for Bucs offense.
Video: Mike Evans says Todd Bowles is right, that the Bucs must decide what kind of team they are and stop the inconsistent up-and-down play. pic.twitter.com/IIpGZgZmHs
The #Jets were not why Todd Bowles failed as a coach in New York.
If Donovan Smith's not healthy, he shouldn't be on the field. If he's healthy, and still playing like this, he shouldn't be on the field.

So Bucs penalties in the first half have negated: -- a sack on opening play for 49ers -- a 66-yard touchdown from Brady to Evans -- an interception by Anthony Nelson
Ryan Succop's kick looked as if the football was inflated to 3.2 PSI.
Solid NFL debut for Bucs' Deven Thompkins today -- his 54-yard kickoff return is Tampa Bay's longest in more than 10 years, since Arrelious Benn had a 55-yarder in September 2012. Averaged 10.5 yards on two punts returns, 24.6 on five kickoff returns.
CB Jamel Dean is OUT for the remainder of the game (toe). pic.twitter.com/KGszBahwb4
NT Vita Vea is doubtful to return (calf). pic.twitter.com/r6shOu5ztN
Bucs' Joe Tryon-Shoyinka left today's game with a hip injury, but he had just one assisted tackle. No tackles last week. In five games since Shaq Barrett was lost to injury, JTS has one sack, two TFLs and seven total tackles in more than 200 snaps.
Keanu Neal on penalty on his sack: "It is tough. I was going full-speed. I was anticipating him moving ... As I got closer, I realized he didn't see me. I was making a tackle, honestly, with force obviously. It's a thin line ... I honestly didn't feel like I hit him in the head."
Especially against a team that ran the ball 36 times, you don't want your leading tacklers to be defensive backs. Logan Ryan led the Bucs with nine tackles today, Keanu Neal had six, OLB Anthony Nelson had seven. Quieter day for Devin White and Lavonte David, with 5 tackles each.
Now Brady to Julio Jones to the 8. This hurry-up offense seems to work well.
Buccaneers CB Zyon McCollum is being evaluated for a concussion.
All three defensive backs in question are inactive again for Bucs today -- no Antoine Winfield, Mike Edwards or Sean Murphy-Bunting today vs. 49ers. Also inactive: T Tristan Wirfs, WR Breshad Perriman, TE Kyle Rudolph, QB Kyle Trask.
Bucs are missing Antoine Winfield Jr. and Mike Edwards SO badly.
According to Byron Leftwich, the #Bucs need to score 29 points to win. As of right now.
49ers go for it on fourth down at the 33, and Carl Nassib bats down the pass for a turnover on downs. Still 4:48 left.
Nice blitz pickup by White and Brady hits Ko Kieft for an 11-yard gain and first down.

Brock Purdy finding his family in the opposite endzone from the locker room after the game ended — and hugging his father following his first win as the 49ers starter — is just an awesome sight to see. pic.twitter.com/i4nwN3UOHn
There's a belief within the 49ers organization, and around the league, that defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans is in line to become a head coach in 2023. If so, it would mark the 3rd straight year the 49ers staff has produced a HC, with Robert Saleh 2021, Mike McDaniel last year.

Brock Purdy can’t be stopped. After a bad interception was negated by defensive holding with less than 30 seconds left in the first half, Purdy let one fly to WR Brandon Aiyuk who got wide open down the field. Even though the throw was a touch short, Aiyuk had time to wait for it before turning and walking into the end zone for a 32-yard TD. Purdy in the first half went 14-18 for 185 yards and two touchdowns through the air. He also ran in a TD and San Francisco led 28-0 at the break
Christian McCaffrey: 14 carries, 119 yards, 8.5 yards per carry
49ers' DE Nick Bosa, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a hamstring injury that prevented him from practicing last week, will play vs. the Buccaneers, per source.
What has kept 49ers' HC Kyle Shanahan up at night…. pic.twitter.com/ZWXXNSqP98
I get the love for Brock Purdy, and the idea that the 49ers don't need a star QB in that offense. But this begs the question: Why did the 49ers trade 3 first-round draft picks for Trey Lance?
That drive was derailed on Play 1 by Brock Purdy's miss of George Kittle on the screen. Have to hit the layups
From @NFLGameDay: #49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo faces a three-month recovery timetable to be able to play following his foot injury, which means its Brock Purdy going forward. The talk of the 49ers' locker room was what it is when they're at their best: Complementary football. Multiple players went out of their way to talk about George Odum, who notched 5 impressive special teams tackles. SF is firing in all three phases of the game at a #1 level
49ers have the luxury of fielding D-line depth that posted over 8 sacks just 2 seasons ago (Kerry Hyder, who forced that Brady INT)
Fair to say Arik Armstead is back at 100 percent. He just tilts the playing field so far in the 49ers' favor
#TBvsSF @DignityHealth injury update: Kevin Givens (knee) is questionable to return.
Ginger walk for Deommodore Lenoir coming off the field
Current look at Levi's. Some rain could pop up at any point today. A few Bucs are on the field. Waiting for Talanoa Hufanga and Taybor Pepper —usually the first #49ers on the field — to emerge. pic.twitter.com/unpmO9KUAS
Trent Williams has consistently been on a body 10 yards downfield. The 49ers don't lose when that happens
Jimmie Ward's been a step ahead of the Bucs offense all game.
Jordan Willis was sure he would've gotten to Brady if not for backup LT Donovan Smith's hold. He was celebrating and pointing at the flag while the deep ball was in the air
After some early season struggles, #49ers are getting plus value from special teams during 6-game win streak. 1.53 ST EPA in that span is 8th in NFL, was -0.10 (14th) before. Ray-Ray McCloud now ranks 4th in NFL in yards per punt return (11.30) and 8th in kick return (21.4).
49ers' inactives include their injured players not on IR and, notably, Ty Davis-Price. Seems like a sign that Jordan Mason is in line to continue seeing growth of his role, as practice squad call-up Tevin Coleman can take some of the special teams burden
#49ers injury update CB Dontae Johnson (knee) is OUT for the game.
#49ers starting defense: DE Samson Ebukam DT Kevin Givens DT Arik Armstead DE Nick Bosa MLB Fred Warner WLB Dre Greenlaw SLB Azeez Al-Shaair CB Charvarius Ward SS Talanoa Hufanga FS Tashaun Gipson
Rain (and a Mitch Wishnowsky punt) are falling from the sky with 13:31 remaining. Only the Purdy family should be staying in the stands -- or Jed York's suite -- to enjoy the end of this blowout win for the 49ers over the Bucs
#49ers CB Samuel Womack is being evaluated for a concussion.
