Cooper Kupp fantasy points so far this season: 213.3 Cooper Kupper fantasy points in all of 2020: 208.7 It's only Week 8.
A couple of Rams were banged up in the second half of Sunday’s win over the Texans as both Van Jefferson and Tutu Atwell exited with injuries. Jefferson hurt his knee on a deep 68-yard reception, while Atwell injured his shoulder during a punt return in the second half.
Atwell was taken to the locker room and was unable to return, and the severity of his injury is still unknown. Jefferson remained on the sideline for the remainder of the game, though he was cleared to return. The Rams didn’t need him during their blowout win, however
The Houston Texans run defense is looking as bad as it did a year before, and the two schemes are entirely differently.
In 2020, the Texans finished with 5.2 yards per carry surrendered, the worst in the league. Through seven games in 2021, the Texans have given up 4.7 yards per carry, tied for the fourth-most in the NFL.
Stopping quarterback Matthew Stafford will be key to getting Houston their second win of the year and off its six-game losing streak. However, to get to Stafford, the Texans have to stop Darrell Henderson and the Rams’ rushing attack
There goes Robert Woods on the fake, then the pitch-and-run from Stafford and he easily finds his blocking for his second TD of the day. Probably should pull starters now, Rams up 38-0 with two seconds left in the third. twitter.com/JourdanRodrigu…
Well Johnny Hekker just had a great placement punt and Matt Gay had a tackle today, so, like, there's that!
For the Rams vs. Houston, the fun was in the details - from Ernest Jones and interesting alignments, to a few cheeky tweaks to play-calls (and noted comments after). Looming ahead: What I think happens next in D. Jackson situation, trade deadline and more theathletic.com/2923739/2021/1…
Ernest Jones got a well-deserved game ball today, said Sean McVay.
Injury update: WR Tutu Atwell (shoulder) questionable to return.
Two plays after splitting a sack with Okoronkwo, Leonard Floyd absolutely envelopes Mills for another sack. Good lord.
A'Shawn Robinson is putting together a really solid game so far.
Lots of reserves in for the Rams now, including John Wolford at QB.
Ernest Jones and Troy Reeder combined for three tackles on that drive, with Jones getting his first start alongside Reeder in the Rams' "base" package (2 ILBs). DL A'Shawn Robinson had two stops on the drive, as well.
Aaron Donald has his first multi-sack game of the season.
Joe Noteboom starting at LT for the Rams with Andrew Whitworth out today.
As expected - Fuller, Rochell, Ramsey are ACTIVE...and Bobby Brown is also active for the first time. twitter.com/JourdanRodrigu…
Near-pick by Jalen Ramsey opens the second half. Rams are at times in a neat little 4-3 alignment with Rapp, Jones and Ramsey the "3". Forced two big plays out of that alignment (INT, PBU).
Rams inactives vs. the Texans: WR DeSean Jackson, QB Bryce Perkins, OLB Chris Garrett, DL Sebastian Joseph-Day, OL Tremayne Anchrum Jr., LT Andrew Whitworth and TE Brycen Hopkins.
Rams inactives today v Houston: QB Bryce Perkins, WR Desean Jackson, OLB Chris Garrett, DL Sebastian Joseph-Day, OL Tremayne Anchrum, OL Andrew Whitworth, TE Brycen Hopkins theathletic.com/realtime/LwXB8…
The @NFLGameDay Notebook with @MikeGarafolo & @TomPelissero: The #Texans & #Dolphins touched base on Deshaun Watson recently; Watson won't be placed on the Commissioner's Exempt list; #Eagles are getting calls on Fletcher Cox; Don't expect #Texans WR Brandin Cooks to be traded. pic.twitter.com/P2hG74hRvr
Houston Texans are prepared to keep Deshaun Watson past Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, even as many in the organization would like to deal him and turn the page, per league sources. nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%…
Texans RB snaps, per @NextGenStats: Rex Burkhead - 28 (48%) Scottie Phillips - 15 David Johnson - 11 Phillip Lindsay - 7
Report: Desmond King inactive for Texans for disciplinary reasons. wp.me/pbBqYq-c54q
The Houston Texans have been horrendous on the road with rookie quarterback Davis Mills under center.
The Texans have averaged 8.5 points per game on the road. Houston has fared a little better at 15.5 points per game at NRG Stadium with Mills.
Mills’ signature game thus far has been Week 5 versus the New England Patriots when he surpassed the 300-yard passing mark, tossed three touchdowns, and didn’t throw an interception. The Texans just seem to do better at NRG Stadium as opposed to on the road
Brevin Jordan is active for Texans with Pharaoh Brown unable to go due to a hamstring injury
The first active Brevin Jordan game of the season!
For the season, #Texans K Ka'imi Fairbairn is now 3-5 on FG & 1-3 on PATs. For all kicks (PATs are 30-39 yds): 30-39 yds: 3-5 40-49 yds: 0-1 50+ yds: 1-2
Texans center Jimmy Morrissey active for first time since being signed off Las Vegas Raiders' practice squad
Houston Texans defensive tackle Maliek Collins caught defensive coordinator Lovie Smith’s attention after the Week 7 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
The former Dallas Cowboys 2016 third-round pick generated a tackle, tackle for loss, and a quarterback hit among his 35 defensive snaps. He had a sack wiped away when he was dinged for going helmet-to-helmet with the diminutive Cardinals quarterback, Kyler Murray.
“Maliek Collins has played well throughout,†Smith said. “He’s been disruptive, and a lot of times our three-technique is the one that garners a little bit of double coverage, double protection and stuff that offenses do. He plays hard every down, big part of what we’re doing. I’m pleased with how he’s done, and he’s a guy that can take another step.â€
The Houston Texans weren’t about to trade Mark Ingram.
The Pro Bowl running back was a locker room leader, and the club needed as many positive influences as they battling through a 1-6 record.
There is still talent on the Texans’ roster, even if coach David Culley and his staff may be having trouble manifesting it on the football field. NFL teams see it and are making calls to the Texans ahead of the Nov. 2 trade deadline.
The Texans did make a deal on Oct. 27: they sent Ingram to the New Orleans Saints for a 2024 seventh-round pick
The Houston Texans are being dragged behind a six-game losing streak and host the 6-1 Los Angeles Rams Sunday at 12:00 p.m. Central Time at NRG Stadium.
One would think that the Texans lacked energy going up against the Rams, what with the front office also parting out contributing pieces to the roster ahead of the trade deadline. It would be understandable if that were the case.
According to defensive tackle Ross Blacklock, the Texans actually are upbeat.
Energy has been good, coming from a loss,†said Blacklock. “We’re just trying to find ways to win each and every day. Spirits are high, everybody’s kind of eager and encouraging each other just to stay on a positive note. Guys are flying around.â€
