With a serious need at an important spot on defense, the #Cowboys are shifting LB Micah Parsons to DE. A look at the ramifications of the move for the talented rookie: nfl.com/news/cowboys-t…
Dak Prescott recorded his 16th career game-winning drive, which is fifth among quarterbacks since he entered the NFL in 2016 and the fourth-most among Cowboys.
Tony Pollard just eclipsed 100 rushing yards against the Chargers. It is his third career 100-yard game and the first since the LA Rams (12/15/19). Pollard also eclipsed 1,000 career rushing yards on the latest drive.
Chargers coach Brandon Staley on Ezekiel Elliott: "He has my full attention. I have full respect for this back. My eyes tell me that this guy is a top two to five back in this league." theathletic.com/2833201/2021/0…
Trevon Diggs is the first Cowboy to record an interception in the first two games of a season since Lee Roy Jordan in 1975.
Amari Cooper OR CeeDee Lamb… 🤔 Who's having a BIGGER day today?! @MichaelIrvin88 @nateburleson pic.twitter.com/8h2jEIVEQz
If you're going to call the DPI on Jayron Kearse, I think you have to call that there
CeeDee Lamb on all the Cowboys fans at SoFi Stadium today: "We felt it. We heard it. We loved it. It felt like a home game." pic.twitter.com/1dGr6d3eDv
Zack Martin, asked about the Cowboys fans at SoFi today: "We didn't have to go in the silent count, and I think they did."
After watching so many seasons where the Cowboys struggled to get takeaways, it's been impressive to watch them in that area lately. Huge play by Damontae Kazee
Mike McCarthy on all the Cowboys fans at SoFi Stadium: "It felt like a home game. It felt like we were back in Oxnard. It's awesome. You love to see that. Our fans are phenomenal."
Cowboys WR Cedrick Wilson just Chris Berman "whooped" past half of the Chargers' defense for 16-yard gain.
*whispers super, super softly. like so quietly it's barely audible* Jaylon Smith is playing pretty well today!
Cowboys' RT La'el Collins, who will miss the first of what is scheduled to be a five-game suspension, is appealing and citing excused absences for his missed drug tests, per sources. nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%…
a few too many 1st-&-10 run calls for my liking, but still a heck of a possession from Kellen Moore. Five different receivers for Dak, got Zeke involved. Seven minutes off the clock. Most importantly, cashed it in in the red zone.
Cowboys RT Terence Steele: "To play in this league, you have to have major confidence in yourself. I worked my butt off this whole offseason, just for this moment, to prepare for this moment. I still have to continue to build off this. (Joey) Bosa is one helluva player."
Cowboys LB Leighton Vander Esch is playing like a guy who should be playing more. Sack. Fourth down.
Just four inactives for the Cowboys in Week 2: Donovan Wilson, Will Grier, Chauncey Golston, Ty Nsekhe. Malik Hooker & Israel Mukuamu both making their regular season debuts for the Cowboys today.
What a move from Kyler Fackrell against one of the best LTs in football Tyron Smith. Wow. Very impressive. #Chargers
LeBron James watching this game from a lower level SoFi Stadium suite. He has said that he started training for football during the 2011 NBA lockout. He thought about what it would be like to play for the Cowboys. Jerry Jones sent him a contract. James has it framed in his office
Cowboys ran a lot of quarters against Chargers today -- 35% of the time (vs. pass attempts only). Dallas ran quarters 10% of the time in Week 1. Falcons ran quarters just 1% of the time in Weeks 1-5 last year, when Dan Quinn (now Cowboys DC) was their head coach.
Cowboys are expected to face Chargers today without at least 6 projected season starters: DE DeMarcus Lawrence (foot) DE Randy Gregory (COVID-19) RT La'el Collins (suspended) WR Michael Gallup (calf) DT Neville Gallimore (elbow) S Donovan Wilson (groin)
Malik Hooker with a tackle for loss, Cowboys D gets a third-down stop to force a Chargers FG. Not a bad job of sudden-change defense, which was another issue a year ago. Cowboys 7, Chargers 3
Anthony Brown with a missed tackle. Oh boy. Then Chargers run up the middle for the two-point conversion. It's 14-11, Dallas. Dallas might have to score 70 today.
Cowboys LB Micah Parsons took more practice reps at edge defender amid absences of DeMarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory. He is the key, and the defense is turning to him. dallasnews.com/sports/cowboys…
All for naught. Horrible penalty there from Cowboys DE Azur Kamara to rough the punter. His first NFL game.
Chargers had second-and-2. Leighton Vander Esch then draws a holding, Keanu Neal crashes down on a RB for 1-yard loss and then Vander Esch records sack. Offense now has chance for score at end of half, although poor field position could influence level of aggression.
HC Brandon Staley on the illegal shift that removed Jared Cook's late touchdown: "I was trying to get the referee's attention and I was not given a response." #Chargers
This throw from Justin Herbert… #BoltUp 📺: #DALvsLAC on CBS 📱: NFL app pic.twitter.com/aPqqd0BBnE
Soo ummm, Micah Pass Rusher (as of first review) finished the game with a higher pass-rush win percentage than Joey Bosa. Who would have predicted that?
Williams corralled seven of his 10 targets for 91 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Cowboys.
Williams actually led the team in targets, once again connecting with Justin Herbert on a number of critical attempts. The 2017 first-round pick now has a touchdown in back-to-back weeks after scoring just five in all of 2020, and this one -- a nifty 12-year-old catch and run -- is simply not a play we've seen Williams be able to make throughout his career. The 26-year-old has notoriously struggled against the Chiefs, but given the type of workload the big-bodied wideout is seeing week-to-week, it's hard to imagine his production falling off significantly against the divisional opponent in Week 3.
Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs on Chargers WR Keenan Allen: "I traveled with him every time. Sometimes we were in zone, so I couldn't really get right there, but I was following him the whole game. ...He's a good wide receiver, real good...It was a good competition today. I enjoyed it."
#Chargers Week 2 RB opportunities (carries + targets): Austin Ekeler - 18 Justin Jackson - 5 Larry Rountree - 2

Brandon Staley said he did not get an explanation on the illegal shift call. He said he tried to get the ref's attention but he did not come over to the sideline. #Chargers
injury update: Kenneth Murray (ankle) is questionable to return. #DALvsLAC
Tristan Vizcaino hits the 32 yard FG. Game is tied at 14. #DALvsLAC
#DALvsLAC Inactives Easton Stick Chris Harris Jr. Joshua Kelley Michael Schofield III Tre' McKitty Justin Jones
Christian Covington will start in place of Justin Jones, based on warmups. Derwin James was at S with base package, but I am expecting him to play a lot in the slot in sub-packages with Chris Harris out. #Chargers
Justin Jackson with a fantastic blitz pickup to give Herbert time on that third down completion. #Chargers
Corey Linsley most certainly did not have a bad game last week. He was outstanding. A couple penalties today, but it's early. twitter.com/daneatongolf/s…
Can't get a good picture, but there's a Saints fan in front of me who is wearing a Chase Daniel jersey. I respect it.
Kyler Fackrell with a strip sack on Prescott. Dallas recovered

Jerry Tillery with his first tackle of the season. #Chargers
Ty Long gets ran into and the refs call a personal penalty. Bolts ball. #DALvsLAC
#Chargers in nickel on 2nd and 3rd down there. James was in slot at Star. Alohi Gilman was at S.
