Will Desvallees

@wdesvallees1
Will is a recent graduate of Wake Forest University and he’s pretty happy about their 2021 football season thus far. As an avid NBA (Knicks), NFL (Saints), and MLB (Yankees) buff over the last 13 years, he is looking forward to delivering some interesting and helpful insight here at FantasySP.

Week 3 Fantasy Basketball Injury Report: Kristaps Porzingis Out Again & COVID-19 Strikes All-Stars

Will Desvallees Nov 3rd 11:05 PM EDT. Edited 4:13 PM.

After two weeks of NBA action, some big names are already getting hurt, including Kristaps Porzingis, who is starting to raise serious concerns about his ability to be durable for the Mavericks moving forward. In addition, the change in seasons into the Fall has meant that more players are getting sick. Wings Tobias Harris and Kris Middleton are both out for at least two weeks after testing positive for COVID-19 while big man Nicholas Claxton is dealing with a non-COVID-related illness. Elsewhere, C James Wiseman and SF T.J. Warren seem to be inching closer to their respective returns. Here is your fantasy basketball Week 3 injury report.

NBA Week 3 Fantasy Trade Targets: Joel Embiid & Julius Randle Are Big Men To Buy Low

Will Desvallees Nov 3rd 12:26 AM EDT. Edited 11:34 AM.

After a few weeks of NBA action, some players have either been injured or simply haven't had their breakout game of the 2021-22 season yet. Using our FSP NBA Trade Value Chart, here are your Week 3 NBA Fantasy trade targets.

Guards

PG Malcolm Brogdon, Indiana Pacers

Brogdon’s trade value slightly decreased by -2.5 points last week. Brogdon is currently injured dealing with a hamstring injury, and TJ McConnel has largely filled in at the PG position in his absence while Caris LeVert has just returned to NBA action. Brogdon is the heart of the Pacers’ offense, serving as a versatile and experienced PG capable of scoring as much as he can get the ball to his teammates. Brogdon is dealing with a hamstring injury but said that he expects to play against the New York Knicks on Wednesday. Even if he does not, Brogdon is currently DTD and might return with a minutes restriction. His trade value is decreased solely because he hasn’t been active. He’s currently averaging 23.4 PPG, 7 RPG, and 7 APG in 37 MPG, making a solid early case for an All-Star nomination. Brogdon might score slightly less (2-3 PPG) with the return of LeVert (assuming LeVert can remain healthy). Nonetheless, Brogdon’s decreased value solely on his absence makes him more attainable making him a great buy-low candidate at the point guard position.

Week 2 Fantasy Basketball Injury Report: Two Former MVPs DTD & More Updates Around the League

Will Desvallees Oct 28th 1:43 PM EDT. Edited 2:34 PM.

After the first week of NBA action, some big-name players have already suffered injuries. Thankfully, for the players and our fantasy aspirations, soft-tissue injuries sustained by LBJ (ankle) and Jokic (knee) will only keep them out for a few days or perhaps a week. Zach LaVine will continue to play through a sprained left thumb he sustained early this season. Elsewhere, James Wiseman and Pascal Siakam are within weeks of returning to NBA action after sustaining injuries that required season-ending surgery in 2020. Rookie Cade Cunningham, who sprained his ankle during training camp and missed the entire preseason, is expected to make his NBA debut on Friday. Here’s your injury report after 10 days of the NBA season.

NBA DFS Picks: Wednesday, Oct. 27 - Bounce-Back Opportunity For Damian Lillard?

Will Desvallees Oct 27th 3:22 AM EDT. Edited 2:42 PM.

Its important to remember that the NBA season is just beginning, and no player on this list has played more than four games. Some big name players such as Damian Lillard and Deandre Ayton had their DFS salaries reduced in comparison to last season, solely based on rusty starts. These are guys you should add to your roster tonight, in addition to a few veterans also getting warmed up, and two young raw talents making the most of the minutes they are given. Here are your NBA DFS picks for Wednesday, October 27.

Guards

PG Damian Lillard, Portland Trailblazers (DK: $8,200 / FD: $9,400)

I'm willing to say that for the rest of the regular season, Damian Lillard’s DFS salary will never be this low. Lillard will perform better than he has in the first three games of the season Wednesday night, and most likely for the rest of the season. Indeed, Lillard began the 2021-22 campaign scoring less than 20 points in all of his first three contests. That drastically affected his FPPG, which were well below what he is capable of producing. He also turned the ball over, which further decreased his value as a player. I mean, Lamelo Ball’s salary is higher! These outrageously low salaries (comparatively speaking) assigned to Lillard by the DFS sites are disrespectful to him and fundamentally fail to evaluate his ability to score on the court any given night. However, if you’re planning on playing DFS tonight, this is the big name player everyone should have on their roster tonight. According to our projections, Lillard is expecting to put up the most fantasy points at the point guard position on tonight's slate. Helping his case is the fact that his opponent, the Memphis Grizzlies, are currently the fourth-worst team against opposing point guards. They are allowing 53.0 fantasy points per game on DraftKings early on this season. Memphis is also allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to all positions (246.0) midway through Week 2. Expect Lillard to light up the box score!

Will Desvallees Oct 25th 5:43 PM EDT. Edited 6:03 PM.

After the first week of 2021-22 NBA action, a few players have already emerged as available waiver wire targets in many fantasy basketball leagues. This includes veteran forwards and former All-Stars Lamarcus Aldridge and Carmelo Anthony, who are both making the most of their roles off the bench on their respective squads. Moreover, guards Davion Mitchell and Cole Anthony both erupted for ferocious offensive performances on Sunday night and are widely available on the waiver wire.
