2022 Fantasy Baseball: Week 11 Waiver Wire Pickups Features Pair Of Mets

Will Desvallees Jun 20th 1:18 PM EDT. Edited 2:10 PM.

As the Mets keep cruising in the National League, two members of their ballclub should be at the forefront of all fantasy baseball owners’ minds. Starting pitcher Tajuan Walker has racked up 19 strikeouts over his last two starts while Brandon Nimmo’s consistency at the top of the Mets’ lineup makes them interesting waiver-wire pickups in Week 11. We’ll also talk about Pirates prospect Oneil Cruz, who is quickly being added to rosters before firmly moving out of the minor leagues this season. Let’s take a look at some of the best MLB waiver-wire pickups.

Week 11 Fantasy Baseball Shallow League Waiver Wire Pickups

SP Taijuan Walker, New York Mets (74% Owned)

Tajuan Walker pitched a huge game on June 12th, striking out 10 Angels batters for a 3.13 ERA and 26 FPTS of production on the night. He followed that up with a huge performance at the mound on Saturday to help the Mets beat the Marlins 3-2. He only allowed two hits and one run for nine strikeouts in 6.2 innings pitched (97 pitches). In 11 starts this season, Walker has averaged a strong 2.88 ERA for 59 innings pitched and 44 strikeouts. More specifically, Walker has pitched at least five innings in nine of the 11 games he took the mound for the Mets this season. He’s also only had one game in which he finished with an ERA of 4.00 or above this season, demonstrating that Walker is a pitcher the Mets can count on consistently to challenge opposing hitters. Though he only remains available in approximately 25% of fantasy baseball leagues right now, fantasy owners should certainly take a look if Walker remains available from waivers before he is picked up.

Will Desvallees Jun 15th 2:15 PM EDT. Edited 2:40 PM.

Today, we take a look at a few players who we consider to be undervalued based on the current ADPs and 2022 fantasy football expectations. Should Joe Mixon drop to the third round? With Russell Wislon under center in Denver, will Jerry Jeudy finally produce his breakout campaign? With Davante Adams joining Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller in Vegas, should Derek Carr really drop down to the 11th or 12th round of a 2022 fantasy draft? Let's dig in!

MLB MVP Futures: Will Mookie Betts Capture The NL MVP In 2022?

Will Desvallees Jun 13th 11:24 PM EDT. Edited 11:24 PM.

This season, the chase for the NL MVP trophy is more competitive than the AL MVP title. Aaron Judge continues to smash homers and solidify his lead for the AL MVP ahead of Mike Trout. In the National League, Mookie Betts is the front runner, with Manny Machado of the Padres and Pete Alonso of the Mets trailing. Though Mookie is the current frontrunner in the National League, let’s take a look at a few other players who could shake up the voting for the title by October.

Will Desvallees Jun 8th 8:16 PM EDT. Edited 9:50 PM.

After Aaron Donald renegotiated his contract to earn an additional $40 million with the Rams for the three years remaining on his existing contract, it was a matter of time before LA’s front would work out a deal with their best pass catcher: Cooper Kupp.

DT Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams

With still years ahead of him in the NFL, Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald has won a record-setting three DPOYs over the last five seasons (2017, 2018, & 2020). Last season, he still had another outstanding year and helped his team win the Super Bowl. Donald has recorded at least 12.5 sacks over the last four seasons. Last season, he had a whopping 84 combined tackles for the Rams. For the next three years, count on him being a DPOY candidate by default. Ian Rapoport reported yesterday that the Rams had restructured Donald’s contract to give him a $40 million raise through 2024.

Michael Jordan and Hornets to Hire D'Antoni or Atkinson as Next Head Coach

Will Desvallees Jun 6th 11:39 AM EDT. Edited 11:39 AM.

At the end of the 2021-22 season, Michael Jordan and the Hornets front office made the decision to part ways with four-year head coach James Borrego. While the NBA Finals are in full swing, the Charlotte Hornets are actively looking to fill in the head coaching position. At the moment, Mike D'Antoni and Kenny Atkinson look like the front runners to take the job in Charlotte beginning next season.

One of the reasons for his firing can be linked to his decision to dissinclude rookies from participating much if at all this season. Notably, James Bouknight and Kai Jones, who were selected 11th and 19th respectively in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft, played little to nothing in their rookie seasons. Bouknight even joined the Greenssboro Swarm instead of the Hornets for a large part of his rookie season.
