The Indianapolis Colts (7-5) and Cincinnati Bengals (6-6) are set for a Week 14 matchup at Paycor Stadium on Sunday.

Both teams find themselves in the thick of the AFC playoff race, battling for wild-card spots with backup quarterbacks leading the way. The Colts are riding a four-game winning streak while the Bengals are coming off their first win with Jake Browning as the starter.

The Indianapolis Colts (7-6) ran into a brick wall offensively as they struggled to keep up with the Cincinnati Bengals (7-6) in a 34-14 loss.

Unfortunately, their four-game winning streak ended as Jake Browning and the Bengals netted several explosive plays that the Colts could not match. (For example, at one point, three screen plays amounted to 124 yards of offense from Joe Mixon and Chase Brown.) Additionally, penalties and a turnover were the undoing for the Colts, stalling any chances they had to make something shake

A few days removed from the primetime affair on “Monday Night Football” against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Cincinnati Bengals didn’t have a player from that game fined by the NFL.

The Jaguars can’t say the same, though.

According to the NFL’s accountability page, Jaguars defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris received a $10,927 fine letter from the NFL this week for unnecessary roughness. On the play in question in the first quarter, he removed the helmet of Bengals wideout Tyler Boyd

Will the Commanders land this year’s Heisman Trophy winner?

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels was named the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner on Saturday, finishing first in this year’s balloting. Winning the Heisman, Daniels becomes the third LSU Tiger to capture the award. Billy Cannon (1959) and Joe Burrow (2019) preceded him in winning the honor.

Just this week, CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson conducted a 2024 NFL Mock Draft of the first round and Wilson had the Commanders selecting Daniels.

Washington last drafted a Heisman Trophy winner when then-owner Daniel Snyder orchestrated a trade with the St. Louis Rams. Washington traded up from the No. 6 overall selection in the 2012 NFL draft to the No. 2 overall selection. Washington also gave up their 2012 second-round pick and 2013 and 2014 first-round picks for the opportunity to draft Baylor’s Robert Griffin III

The Cincinnati Bengals surged out of halftime during the Week 14 game against the Indianapolis Colts and marched down the field to score, taking a 21-14 lead.

Said score came via a 17-yard strike from quarterback Jake Browning to tight end Tanner Hudson.

Hudson, who wasn’t on the active 53-man roster to start the season, shoved his way onto the roster and gradually surpassed Irv Smith Jr. as the top receiving option at the position.

With Joe Burrow out for the season and Browning in as the starter, the offense has gone his way even more than usual and — at this pace — he’s an option to stick well beyond 2023 as a key piece
