Discussing some of the best hitting performances from April 16.

All but two MLB teams were in action on Tuesday, April 16, so there’s plenty to discuss from a fantasy baseball perspective.

There were a good amount of runs scored in a lot of the contests, so we’ll take a look at the top hitters in this article. Check back soon for a story on pitchers.

Tigers 4, Rangers 2

Kerry Carpenter doubled and tripled while driving in a run for Detroit. He’s hitting .302 so far this season. Zach McKinstry got on base twice and scored two runs.

Josh Smith reached base twice and scored a run for Texas. No other player got on base more than once.

Orioles 11, Twins 3

Gunnar Henderson, Jordan Westburg and Ryan O'Hearn each belted two-run home runs for Baltimore in a lopsided win. Henderson finished with three hits, three RBIs and a run scored, Westburg had two knocks and O'Hearn had two hits and two runs scored.

Anthony Santander drove in a run on two hits, while also scoring once for the Orioles. Colton Cowser drove in two runs on two hits and also scored a run. James McCann had two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Adley Rutschman got on base twice for Baltimore, while also scoring twice. 

Ryan Jeffers doubled among his two hits and scored once for Minnesota. 

Marlins 6, Giants 3

Luis Arraez doubled among his two hits, drove in two runs and scored once for Miami. Josh Bell also doubled among his two hits, walked once and scored a run.

Nick Fortes walked twice for Miami. Nick Gordon got on base twice and scored a run.

Matt Chapman hit a solo home run for San Francisco - he also doubled. Nick Ahmed also posted two hits, while Wilmer Flores got on base twice and drove in a run.

Phillies 5, Rockies 0

J.T. Realmuto and Bryce Harper each clubbed two-run homers to power Philadelphia. Harper had two hits and three RBIs in the contest. 

Philadelphia’s Trea Turner added two hits to bump his average to .310, while also scoring twice. 

Ryan McMahon had two of Colorado’s seven hits and was the only player to reach base twice.

Rays 7, Angels 6 (13 inn.)

Richie Palacios drove in a run on two hits and scored twice for Tampa Bay. Amed Rosario also had two hits, while driving in one and scoring once.

Jose Caballero drove in two runs on a hit for Tampa Bay. Isaac Paredes reached base three times, Ben Rortvedt walked twice and Harold Ramirez got on base twice, drove in a run and scored once.

Mickey Moniak hit a two-run homer for Los Angeles. Logan O'Hoppe hit a solo shot. Mike Trout reached base twice and stole a base.

Blue Jays 5, Yankees 4

Toronto’s Vladimir Guerrero Jr. drove in two runs on two hits, while also walking twice. Ernie Clement doubled among his two hits, stole a base and scored two runs.

Daulton Varsho doubled, walked, stole a base and scored twice for the Blue Jays. George Springer drew two walks and added a hit, while Bo Bichette got on base twice and drove in a run.

Alex Verdugo had two of the six New York hits, while also scoring once. Jose Trevino drove in three runs and had a hit, while Gleyber Torres drew two walks and scored two runs.

Guardians 10, Red Sox 7 (11 inn.)

Tyler Freeman hit a solo home run and double, while scoring twice for Cleveland. Gabriel Arias upped his average to .313 with two hits and two RBIs.

Steven Kwan delivered three hits to bump his average to .372, walked once and scored two runs for the Guardians. Andres Gimenez got on base three times, drove in a run and scored twice. 

Cleveland’s Jose Ramirez got on base twice, drove in two runs and scored once. Will Brennan got on base twice, drove in one and scored once.

Connor Wong hit a two-run homer among his two hits and drove in three total for Boston. Rafael Devers got on base three times and drove in a pair.

Triston Casas hit a solo homer among his two hits, and got on base three times in total. Enmanuel Valdez hit a solo shot among his two hits. David Hamilton delivered two knocks, Wilyer Abreu scored two runs and Jarren Duran got on base twice and scored once.

Mets 3, Pirates 1

Pete Alonso doubled among his two hits and scored once for New York. 

Connor Joe and Bryan Reynolds got on base two times each for Pittsburgh, with Reynolds driving in the team’s lone run.

Padres 6, Brewers 3

Ha-Seong Kim hit a three-run homer in the first inning for San Diego. Fernando Tatis Jr. had three hits, a stolen base, one walk and two runs scored.

Jurickson Profar scored two runs and got on base twice to up his on-base percentage to .413 so far. Manny Machado got on base twice and drove in a run.

Sal Frelick led Milwaukee with three hits and a walk. William Contreras drove in two runs on a hit, while Willy Adames walked twice and scored a run. Joey Wiemer scored twice after getting a hit and drawing a walk.

Braves 6, Astros 2

Orlando Arcia hit a solo home run among his two hits, drove in two runs and scored twice for Atlanta. Chadwick Tromp had two hits and two RBIs.

Jarred Kelenic moved his average to .400 after a pair of hits - he also scored once. Luis Guillorme drove in two runs on a hit and scored once. 

Matt Olson drew two walks for Atlanta. Austin Riley and Marcell Ozuna got on base twice and scored a run each.

Kyle Tucker hit a solo homer and got on base twice for Houston. Jeremy Pena had two hits and scored a run - he’s now hitting .351 this season.

Diamondbacks 12, Cubs 11 (10 inn.)

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit a two-run homer, walked three times and scored twice for Arizona. Ketel Marte hit a solo homer among his four hits and scored three times. Blaze Alexander drove in three runs on two hits.

Joc Pederson hit a solo homer, walked once, drove in two runs total and scored three runs for the D-Backs. Christian Walker drew three walks and scored twice. Corbin Carroll got on base three times, stole two bases and scored a run, while Eugenio Suarez got on base twice, drove in a run and scored once.

Ian Happ hit a three-run home run for Chicago. He finished with three three hits, four RBIs and three runs scored. Nico Hoerner had four hits, one RBI and two runs scored.

Miguel Amaya doubled and tripled, drove in two runs and scored once for Chicago. Christopher Morel got on base twice and drove in a run.

Cardinals 3, Athletics 2

Nolan Arenado had two hits and scored once for St. Louis. Masyn Winn walked twice, stole a base, drove in a run and scored once.

Kyle McCann hit a solo homer among his two hits and drove in two runs total for Oakland. Seth Brown doubled among his two hits.

Mariners 3, Reds 1

J.P. Crawford and Julio Rodriguez each had two hits and a run scored for Seattle, with Rodriguez also stealing a base. Mitch Haniger drove in a run on two hits.

Cal Raleigh and Jorge Polanco drew a pair of walks for the Mariners. Mitch Garver got on base twice, scored a run and drove in a run. Josh Rojas got on base twice.

Elly De La Cruz got on base three times and stole a base for Cincinnati. Jake Fraley reached base twice, stole a base and scored the team’s only run.

Dodgers 6, Nationals 2

Enrique Hernandez hit a solo home run for Los Angeles. Mookie Betts doubled twice among his five hits, drove in two runs and scored twice - Betts is hitting .388 with a .490 OBP so far.

Shohei Ohtani and Miguel Rojas had two hits each, with Rojas also walking once and scoring twice. Freddie Freeman walked three times.

Jesse Winker doubled and homered, drove in two runs and scored once for Washington. He’s hitting .373 with a .500 OBP this season. CJ Abrams got on base twice.
