Athletics 2, Yankees 0

JP Sears started for Oakland, striking out seven over six innings, but it was Lucas Erceg that got the win out of the bullpen. Sears allowed just three hits and one walk. Erceg struck out one and lowered his earned run average to 1.86 after tossing two scoreless innings.

Mason Miller earned his fifth save of the season after striking out all three batters he faced in the ninth.

Carlos Rodon started for New York, allowing no runs on one hit and two walks over seven innings. He struck out four and lowered his ERA to 2.70. Victor Gonzalez took the loss out of the bullpen.

Phillies 7, Reds 0

Ranger Suarez improved to 4-0 after tossing seven scoreless innings for Philadelphia. He struck out five, while allowing two hits and one walk. His ERA is 1.36.

Hunter Greene fell to 0-2 after allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks over seven innings. Greene struck out six batters.

Pirates 4, Brewers 2

Jared Jones is now 2-2 after striking out seven batters in six strong innings for Pittsburgh. He allowed a run on four hits and two walks. Jones has a 2.79 ERA.

David Bednar earned his third save and worked around a hit in the ninth inning. His ERA is 10.13.

Joe Ross fell to 1-2 after allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits and one walk. He struck out four batters along the way.

Tigers 7, Rays 1

Tarik Skubal improved to 3-0 and lowered his ERA to 1.82 after tossing six scoreless innings for Detroit. Skubal struck out nine while allowing three hits and no walks.

Zack Littell was dealt the loss, allowing six runs (five earned) on nine hits over six innings. Littell struck out seven batters.

Braves 3, Marlins 0

Bryce Elder earned a win in his first start of the season, striking out four batters over 6 2/3 scoreless innings. Elder allowed eight hits and no walks.

Raisel Iglesias earned his seventh save and lowered his ERA to 2.16.

Ryan Weathers allowed three runs on six hits and three walks over 5 2/3 innings while taking the loss. Weathers, who has a 3.16 ERA now, struck out just one batter.

Blue Jays 5, Royals 3

Yusei Kikuchi bumped his record to 2-1 after pitching six innings for Toronto. He allowed two runs on five hits, while striking out four and walking none.

Jordan Romano picked up his third save despite allowing a run.

Brady Singer fell to 2-1 after allowing five runs over six innings. He surrendered five hits and three walks, while striking out five.

Twins 7, White Sox 0

Chris Paddack struck out 10 batters over seven scoreless innings to improve to 1-1 on the season. The Twins’ starter allowed six hits and no walks.

Jonathan Cannon was tagged for six runs on nine hits and a walk over just 3 2/3 innings while taking his first loss. He struck out five along the way.

Cardinals 5, Diamondbacks 3

Ryan Helsley improved to 2-2 out of the pen after working a scoreless ninth innings. Lance Lynn started for St. Louis, striking out seven over five innings. Lynn allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks.

Brandon Pfaadt started for Arizona, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks over 5 1/3 innings, while striking out four.

Scott McGough was charged with his second blown save, and Ryan Thompson eventually took the loss.

Padres 3, Rockies 1

Dylan Cease improved to 3-1 after striking out eight batters in seven strong innings. He allowed a run on one hit and didn’t walk a batter. Cease has a 1.82 ERA so far.

Robert Suarez earned his eighth save after working around two hits in the ninth inning. His ERA is 0.84 this season.

Austin Gomber started for Colorado, allowing a run on four hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out a pair of batters. Nick Mears took his second loss out of the bullpen after allowing two runs.

Orioles 4, Angels 2

Albert Suarez got his first win for Baltimore after striking out five batters over 5 2/3 scoreless innings. He allowed four hits and two walks.

Craig Kimbrel worked around a couple baserunners in the ninth to pick up his sixth save.

Reid Detmers took his first loss, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks over seven frames. He struck out four batters and now has a 2.12 ERA for the season.

Giants 5, Mets 2

Keaton Winn struck out six over six innings to improve to 2-3 on the season. He allowed a run on four hits and one walk.

Jose Quintana fell to 1-2 after giving up five runs on seven hits and three walks over five innings. Quintana struck out four batters.
