Justin Almeida has been reassigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins' training camp. Almeida had been participating in Pittsburgh's NHL camp. He had two goals and four points in 11 AHL contests last season.

It's actually insane how many NHLers have trade protection.There are currently two NTC's in the entire NBA. About 10 in the NFL, about 30 in MLB.There are nearly 300 in the NHL. Almost everyone in the Top 100 salaries has one, as do most players making over league average.

Yannick Weber is ending his NHL career after 13 seasons. Weber appeared in two games with the Pittsburgh Penguins last season. Although he was never a star, he did have a successful career at the NHL level between his stints with stints in Montreal, Vancouver, Nashville, and Pittsburgh. He scored 28 goals and 94 points in 499 contests. With his NHL career behind him, Weber signed a three-year deal with ZSC in his native Switzerland.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have placed Yannick Weber on the taxi squad. The move was made to create room on the roster for Juuso Riikola who has missed the last 12 games with an upper-body injury. Weber was a minus-three in two NHL games this season.

In 1149 minutes he drew 37 minor penalties, a 1.93 per 60 rate that ranks 1st by far among blueliners. He also only took 20.

Mike Matheson, on perception the Canadiens have nothing left: I think if we had listened to everybody outside of this locker room the last year and a half we wouldn't have made the playoffs last year and we definitely wouldn't be in the conference finals right now. The Tampa Bay Lightning have re-signed Maxime Lagace to a one-year/two-way contract. Lagace was 1-1 with Tampa Bay last season, with a 6.11 GAA and a .828 save percentage after he gave up six goals on 27 shots to Florida in 40 minutes of action. He was strong in AHL action, going 23-9-2 record with a 2.31 GAA and a .910 save percentage as well as four shutouts. He will be a depth goalie for the Lightning.

It's actually insane how many NHLers have trade protection.There are currently two NTC's in the entire NBA. About 10 in the NFL, about 30 in MLB.There are nearly 300 in the NHL. Almost everyone in the Top 100 salaries has one, as do most players making over league average.

Yannick Weber is ending his NHL career after 13 seasons. Weber appeared in two games with the Pittsburgh Penguins last season. Although he was never a star, he did have a successful career at the NHL level between his stints with stints in Montreal, Vancouver, Nashville, and Pittsburgh. He scored 28 goals and 94 points in 499 contests. With his NHL career behind him, Weber signed a three-year deal with ZSC in his native Switzerland.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have placed Yannick Weber on the taxi squad. The move was made to create room on the roster for Juuso Riikola who has missed the last 12 games with an upper-body injury. Weber was a minus-three in two NHL games this season.
