April 11 Fantasy Basketball Takeaways: Top Rookies and Waiver Wire Options | Isaiah Hartenstein, Javonte Green, Trayce Jackson-Davis, Jose Alvarado, Luka Samanic and More

Taking a look at some of the top performances from waiver wire options across NBA games played April 11.

Just five NBA games were played on Thursday, April 11, but there were plenty of performances to take note of for fantasy basketball owners.

Let’s break things down from each game. We’ll focus on players with an own percentage of 90 or below.

Knicks 118, Celtics 109

New York stayed in the hunt for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference with a road win over Boston.

New York’s Isaiah Hartenstein, rostered in 90% of leagues, totaled 11 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and one steal across 33 minutes of action.

Hartenstein is a double-double threat when he’s on the court, but it was just his second one of the past five games. It was his second straight game with six assists and at least two blocks. Hartenstein is a good streaming option, if available, for the team’s final two games.

Knicks’ OG Anunoby, owned in 85% of leagues, went for 12 points, five rebounds and one assist, steal and block across 26 minutes.

It was Anunoby’s fourth game back from injury, and the third time he scored in double figures. It was his fewest amount of minutes played since returning. With the team playing Friday as well, I’m guessing Anunoby didn’t play as much so he could also suit up tonight. If he’s active, he could be streamed Friday, and then in the Sunday finale.

New York’s Bojan Bogdanovic, rostered in 51% of leagues, had 14 points, three rebounds and a steal across 25 minutes off the bench.

Bogdanovic only played nine minutes in the previous game, so this was nice to see for his fantasy owners. He’s not a great fantasy option, but in deeper leagues, could be utilized in the final couple games for his scoring alone.

Boston’s Payton Pritchard and Sam Hauser scored in double figures off the bench. Hauser had 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and one block across 22 minutes, while Piritchard had 16 points, six assists and four boards in nearly 21 minutes.

Hauser, owned in 26% of leagues, has now scored in double figures in every other game over the past five contests. He adds in a few other stats, which makes him a solid streaming option in deep leagues.

Pritchard, rostered in 44% of leagues, got back in double figures after tallying just six points in the team’s previous game. He demonstrated he can do more than just score on Thursday, which makes him another solid deep league option for the team’s final two games.

Bulls 127, Pistons 105

Chicago’s Javonte Green, owned in 9% of leagues, went for 11 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and one steal across 30 minutes.

Green started for the third straight game and had around 30 minutes played for a second straight contest. He’s scored in double figures in three of the past four games (missing by a point in the other game) and has at least eight rebounds in each contest, so he’s a solid deep league streaming option for the team’s final two games.

Bulls’ Alex Caruso, rostered in 81% of leagues, had eight points, 10 assists, four rebounds and two steals across 34 minutes played.

Caruso isn’t a great scorer (and hasn’t scored in double figures in four straight games now), but showed why he’s a widely-owned fantasy player with a well-rounded effort. I’d think there are better options out there in standard leagues, but if there isn’t, Caruso could be streamed for the final two games, granted he suits up.

Dalen Terry, who is barely owned in any leagues, had 12 points, two rebounds and one steal across 17 minutes off the bench.

Terry has been between 13-19 minutes the past four games, but has just the one game in double figures as a scorer. He’s an option in the deepest of leagues, but there has to be better options out there.

Several Detroit players had solid outings on Thursday.

Jaden Ivey, owned in 84% of leagues, had 16 points, six assists, two rebounds and one steal across 31 minutes.

That’s now four straight games in double figures for Ivey. He’s done enough else in those games to be a streaming option in standard leagues for the final two games.

Marcus Sasser, rostered in 9% of leagues, accumulated 20 points, five assists, two steals and a block across 33 minutes.

Sasser has scored in double figures in three straight games, with at least five assists in each of those contests. That’s enough to utilize him as a streaming option in deep leagues for the final two games.

Chimezie Metu, owned in 27% of leagues, finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists across 32 minutes.

Metu is starting now, and has played at least 30 minutes in each of the past three contests. He’s got at least seven boards in each of those contests, and scored in double figures twice. Metu is another deep league option for the final couple games.

Malachi Flynn, rostered in 7% of leagues, totaled 12 points, two rebounds and one assist across 15 minutes off the bench.

Flynn scored in double figures for just the second time since his 50-point outburst back on April 3. He doesn’t do much else on the court, and is too inconsistent to play outside really deep leagues.

Warriors 100, Trail Blazers 92

Golden State held off Portland to move up to the No. 9 seed in the Western Conference.

Golden State’s Jonathan Kuminga, rostered in 87% of leagues, posted 19 points, six rebounds and one assist and steal across 34 minutes played.

Kuminga has only played three games in April, which explains his lower own percentage. When he’s on the court, he’s a solid fantasy asset in all formats, so add him if he’s available and you need some help for the final two games.

Andrew Wiggins, owned in 83% of leagues, tallied 15 points, five rebounds, two blocks and one assist and steal across 30 minutes.

Wiggins has scored in double figures in four straight games now. He doesn’t fill the stat sheet much otherwise, but is still a good streaming option for the final couple games.

Rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis, rostered in 74% of leagues, ended the night with 10 points, eight rebounds, four blocks and assists and one steal across 27 minutes.

Jackson-Davis doesn’t get a lot of field goal attempts, but is super efficient to post outings like this. He’s a good streaming option in all formats.

Kevon Looney, owned in 31% of leagues, totaled nine points, 11 rebounds, four blocks and two steals across 21 minutes off the bench.

Looney doesn’t usually get this many minutes, but he showed he can be a strong fantasy asset when he does. It’d be hard to trust him outside of really deep leagues because of his inconsistent minutes, but he’s at least an option.

Kris Murray (10%), Scoot Henderson (75%) and Jabari Walker (26%) all had nice outings for Portland.

Murray had 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal and block across 44 1/2 minutes played. With that many minutes, he’s a deep league/dynasty streaming option for the final two games.

Henderson went for 18 points, 12 assists, three rebounds and two steals across nearly 40 minutes. He continues to stuff the stat sheet, which makes him a streaming option in all formats.

Walker had 17 points, 16 rebounds and one assist and steal across 36 minutes. He’s another deep league streaming option.

Pelicans 135, Kings 123

New Orleans topped Sacramento to keep hold of the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference.

Dyson Daniels (4%) and Jose Alvarado (13%) had solid games off the bench for the Pelicans.

Daniels tallied 10 points, four rebounds and one assist, steal and block across 25 minutes. He’s scored in double figures in every other game over the past five contests. Daniels isn’t super consistent, but is at least a streaming option in deeper leagues for the final couple games.

Alvarado tallied 14 points and six rebounds and assists across 22 minutes. He bounced back nicely from a two-point showing in his previous game. Again, he’s not a great or super consistent fantasy option, but he could be utilized in a pinch for the final couple games in deeper leagues.

Harrison Barnes and Davion Mitchell had solid games for the Kings.

Barnes, owned in 45% of leagues, had 22 points, five rebounds, four assists and one steal across 33 minutes. He matched his point total from the previous four games combined on Thursday, and maybe he can stay hot to end the season. He’s a pretty solid deep league option, although there’s probably also better options out there.

Mitchell, rostered in 5% of leagues, posted 13 points, five assists and two rebounds across 27 minutes off the bench.

Mitchell is consistently playing 20+ minutes, but his scoring outputs haven’t been consistent. Still, he’s a decent deep league option for the final couple games.

Jazz 124, Rockets 121

Utah edged Houston in a game between the top two non-playoff teams in the West.

Utah’s Luka Samanic, owned in 1% of leagues, recorded 22 points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal across 34 minutes.

Samanic has scored in double figures the past two games, in which he’s started and played around 35 minutes. He’s a sneaky good deep league option for the final two contests.

Rookie Keyonte George, rostered in 61% of leagues, totaled 20 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals across 33 minutes.

George has scored at least 20 points in two of the past three games. He doesn’t do much else most nights, but plays and scores enough to consider as a streaming option in all formats.

Utah’s Talen Horton-Tucker, rostered in 10% of leagues, finished with 16 points, five rebounds and assists and two blocks across 29 minutes off the bench.

Horton-Tucker has played at 25 minutes in three straight games now, and scored in double figures in four straight. He’s a deep league fantasy option for the final couple games.

Kenneth Lofton Jr., who is barely owned in any leagues, had 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block across 27 minutes off the bench.

Lofton could be another sneaky deep league option if he plays in the final couple games. It’d be a bit of a gamble to play him, but he is at least an option.

Utah’s Brice Sensabaugh, owned in 9% of leagues, went for 17 points, six rebounds and three assists across 24 minutes off the bench.

Sensabaugh scored in double figures for a second straight game, and also had at least five boards in those games. He’s another risky play, but could be a decent option in deep leagues.

Houston rookie Amen Thompson, rostered in 78% of leagues, posted 15 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals across 35 minutes.

Thompson had a nearly identical statline in the previous game, which shows he’s a solid streaming option in any format for the final couple games.

Fellow rookie Cam Whitmore, owned in 16% of leagues, tallied 18 points, four rebounds and assists and two blocks across 27 minutes off the bench.

Whitmore only played six minutes in his previous game, which was the only time in the past five games that he hasn’t scored in double figures. It’s a bit of a risk to play him, but he’s a decent option in deeper leagues/dynasties.

Jeff Green, barely owned in any leagues, went for 13 points and six boards across 22 minutes off the bench.

Green has played between 17-22 minutes the past six games now. He’s scored in double figures just twice over that span, but could be an option in deep leagues for the final couple games.
