Ruiz hit .255/.355/.425 with nine home runs, 43 RBI and three stolen bases this season.
Spin: Ruiz set a career high in home runs this season and improved on his .219 batting average from last season. The Phillies traded away prospect Lou Marson this season and the team loves Ruiz's defense and game calling so it seems highly likely that he'll be the team's starter again next season.Thu, Nov 5

J.C. Romero (elbow surgery) said Saturday that he intends to be at full strength for the start of spring training next season. "My goal is to be ready to go when spring training starts," said the lefty, "although I may go a little slower because I don't want to get ahead of myself." It's a tough proposition. Romero underwent elbow surgery just one week ago and was given a recovery time of five-to-six months. Factor in a few setbacks, and it seems doubtful he'll be able to reach his goal.Source: Philadelphia Inquirer (click again to close) | RP | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

David Murphy of the Philadelphia Daily News suggests Kyle Kendrick or Brett Myers could be left off the NLCS roster if Chan Ho Park (hamstring) returns. Park threw a successful bullpen session on Monday and is already with the team in Los Angeles, so it appears he'll make the cut for the NLCS roster. That means someone has to be left off. Kendrick was not used during the Phillies' first-round matchup with the Rockies, and Myers has struggled mightily dating back to the end of the regular season. Final rosters for the best-of-seven series must be set on Wednesday.Source: Philadelphia Daily News Related: Chan Ho Park, Brett Myers
