Dominik Kahun has signed a three-year contract with SC Bern of Switzerland's National League. 

Kahun become an unrestricted free agent after he didn't receive a qualifying offer from the Edmonton Oilers. He produced nine goals and 15 points in 48 games last season. Kahun also appeared in two playoff matches.

A few of us had a nice chat with Oscar Klefbom after Oilers practice today. He said: - Last night's game was the first hockey game he's watched since he retired. He still felt like a player and found it too painful to watch. - He has a 15-month-old son and another on the way. DNBsports: - He plans on getting back into the game either in development or coaching in a couple years but isn't ready yet. - He's basically pain-free but still has some restrictions. He can't take a full golf swing, for instance. He's slowly trying to build up some muscle in his shoulder.

The Tampa Bay Lightning terminated the contract of veteran forward Josh Archibald after the offseason acquisition told the team he was taking time off from hockey.

Josh Archibald says he's looking forward to bringing speed, physicality and energy to the #Bolts lineup. Sensing a theme with some of TB's recent moves up front. They want to add speed and have more of that pest mentality on the forecheck. See it in Eyssimont's game as well.

Joakim Nygard has signed with Farjestad of the Swedish Hockey League.

Nygard had no points in nine games with Edmonton in 2020-21. He's spent the bulk of his career with Farjestads, but he does also have 42 contests worth of NHL experience.

Joakim Nygard will play again Monday night after he was back in the lineup on Saturday. 

Nygard played for the first time since March 18 and he logged 8:44 of ice time. "Now that I have my opportunity, I want to grab it," he said. He is slated to play alongside Zack Kassian and Devin Shore versus Montreal. Nygard hasn't earned a point in seven appearances this year.

This power-play is markedly similar to the one the Pens used when James Neal was in town. The entire reason it's working is they've committed a singular resource to living in between the circles. Teams can't pressure endlessly when they have to commit a resource to that guy.

The Oilers have waived taxi squad member Joakim Nygard and sent defenceman Theodor Lennstrom to AHL Bakersfield.

The Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenseman Theodor Lennstrom from the minors and placed him on their taxi squad.

The move was necessitated by the likely season-ending injury to Slater Koekkoek. Lennstrom had a pair of goals and an assist in seven games with Bakersfield, his first action in North America and will need to quarantine 14 days once he arrives in Canada.
