Kris Jenkins underwent surgery today to repair a torn ACL in his left knee, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View: The 3o-year-old vet is expected to be recovered in time to participate in the offseason training program in March. Jenkins suffered a clean tear, with no further damage.

Jets NT Kris Jenkins (injured reserve) underwent reconstructive surgery Wednesday on his torn ACL. The Jets say they expect Jenkins back for the start of the offseason program in March, but he'll likely be limited all the way into training camp. While it's good news that Jenkins suffered a "clean tear" of the ligament, he turns 31 before next season and New York does not have good depth behind him.
