There were 15 more MLB games (including a doubleheader) on Wednesday, May 8, so it’s time to break down all the top performances. 

There were a bunch of tight games, but a lot of runs scored again, so we’ll start with the top hitting performances again.

Rangers 12, Athletics 11 (Game 1)

Nathaniel Lowe drove in three runs on two hits, walked twice and scored two runs for Texas. Jonah Heim drove in three runs on two hits, walked once and scored twice.

Ezequiel Duran and Marcus Semien each had three hits and a walk, while Duran drove in a run and scored once and Semien scored twice. Travis Jankowski drove in a run on two hits. 

Josh Smith drove in a run on a hit, stole a base and scored twice, while Leody Taveras got on twice and scored two runs. Adolis Garcia reached twice and drove in a run. 

Shea Langeliers and Tyler Soderstrom each hit two-run homers for Oakland. Langeliers finished with two hits, three RBIs and two runs scored, while Soderstrom had two knocks.

Abraham Toro got on base four times, drove in a run and scored twice for Oakland. Brent Rooker got on base three times and scored once. Max Schuemann got on three times and scored twice.

Brett Harris walked twice, drove in a run and scored once for the Athletics. Tyler Nevin walked twice.

Angels 5, Pirates 4

Jo Adell hit a solo homer among his two hits and drove in two runs total for Los Angeles. Brandon Drury drove in a run on two hits and scored once, while Zach Neto added two knocks. Taylor Ward reached base twice and scored once.

Oneil Cruz drove in three runs on two hits and scored a run for Pittsburgh. Connor Joe drove in a run on two hits.

Blue Jays 5, Phillies 3

Kevin Kiermaier drove in two runs on three hits, while Vladimir Guerrero Jr. drove in one on three knocks to power Toronto. Davis Schneider got on base three times, drove in a run and scored once.

Bryson Stott got on base twice, drove in a pair and scored once for Philadelphia. Nick Castellanos had two hits and Brandon Marsh scored twice and had one hit. 

Guardians 5, Tigers 4 (10 inn.)

David Fry hit a solo homer for Cleveland - he scored twice in the contest. Brayan Rocchio drove in a run on two hits, stole a base and scored once. Austin Hedges had a hit and drove in two for the Guardians. 

Zach McKinstry drove in one on two hits for Detroit. Colt Keith drove in two on one hit and also scored once. Kerry Carpenter had two knocks and a run scored.

Royals 6, Brewers 4

Bobby Witt Jr. hit a solo homer for Kansas City among his two hits. He also walked once and scored three runs. Michael Massey had two RBIs.

Vinnie Pasquantino and Freddy Fermin had two hits each, with Pasquantino driving in a run and Fermin driving in a run and also walking. Maikel Garcia reached base twice and scored a run.

Gary Sanchez hit a solo homer among his two hits, walked once and scored twice for Milwaukee. Brice Turang drove in a run on three hits, walked once and scored once.

William Contreras drove in two runs on a hit and walk. Oliver Dunn walked twice and stole a base.

Padres 3, Cubs 0

Jake Cronenworth and Luis Arraez had two hits each for San Diego. Arraez also scored two runs, while Cronenworth walked and drove in one.

Chicago had just two hits and a walk, with no batter reaching base more than once.

Dodgers 3, Marlins 1

Teoscar Hernandez hit a two-run homer among his two hits for Los Angeles. He drove in three runs total. Freddie Freeman had two hits and runs scored.

Bryan De La Cruz homered among his two hits for Miami. 

Athletics 9, Rangers 4 (Game 2)

Shea Langeliers and Brent Rooker hit two-run homers for Oakland, while Brett Harris had a solo shot. Rooker finished with three hits, RBIs and runs scored, while Langeliers drove in five on three hits total.

J.D. Davis got on base twice and scored two runs for the Athletics. JJ Bleday got on twice and scored once, while Max Schuemann also reached twice.

Diamondbacks 4, Reds 3

Eugenio Suarez hit a solo homer among his two hits and stole a base for Arizona. Gabriel Moreno had two hits, one RBI and a run scored. Christian Walker got on base twice and drove in one.

Jeimer Candelario drove in a run on three hits for Cincinnati. TJ Friedl drove in one on two knocks and also stole a base. Tyler Stephenson posted two hits and scored once for the Reds. 

Orioles 7, Nationals 6 (12 inn.)

Ryan Mountcastle hit a two-run homer for Baltimore, while Anthony Santander and Gunnar Henderson hit solo shots each. Henderson had two hits and runs total, while Santander also walked once.

Colton Cowser drove in a run on two hits for the Orioles. Jordan Westburg scored twice and had one hit.

Eddie Rosario hit a solo homer for Washington - he got on base three times total and scored twice. Jacob Young reached three times and drove in a run.

Keibert Ruiz added two knocks for the Nationals. Joey Meneses walked once and scored two runs. Trey Lipscomb got on twice and drove in a run.

White Sox 4, Rays 1

Paul DeJong hit a two-run homer for Chicago - he had two hits and runs total. Bryan Ramos had two hits and one RBI and run.

Andrew Benintendi had two hits and a run scored for the White Sox. Andrew Vaughn and Gavin Sheets each reached base three times. Tommy Pham drove in a run on two hits.

Harold Ramirez had two hits for Tampa Bay. Isaac Paredes got on twice and drove in a run.

Yankees 9, Astros 4

Juan Soto, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton each hit solo homers for New York. Soto had three total hits and five RBIs, while Judge drove in three on three hits.

Anthony Volpe got on base three times and scored twice, while Oswaldo Cabrera walked twice and scored two runs. Austin Wells had two hits and a run scored. Gleyber Torres also walked twice for the Yankees.

Kyle Tucker and Jeremy Pena hit solo homers for Houston. Pena and Mauricio Dubon had three hits each, with Dubon also scoring twice. Jake Meyers drove in one on two hits.

Braves 5, Red Sox 0

Marcell Ozuna hit a three-run homer for Atlanta, while Orlando Arcia added a solo shot. Ozuna finished with two hits, a walk, four RBIs and two runs scored, while Arcia had two total knocks. 

Connor Wong had two of Boston’s seven hits.

Twins 6, Mariners 3

Carlos Correa, Trevor Larnach and Willi Castro each hit a solo homer for Minnesota. Castro finished with two hits and two RBIs.

Mitch Garver hit a solo homer among his two hits, while also walking once for Seattle. Julio Rodriguez had three hits, a stolen base and a run scored, while Josh Rojas had two knocks. Cal Raleigh knocked in two runs and had a hit. 

Giants 8, Rockies 6

Michael Conforto hit a solo homer for San Francisco - he finished with three hits, one walk and two runs scored. Blake Sabol had an RBI on three hits. 

Mike Yastrzemski and Matt Chapman had two hits each for the Giants, with Yastrzemski scoring twice and Chapman crossing home once. LaMonte Wade Jr.drove in two runs and had a hit.

Elias Diaz hit a two-run homer for Colorado - he had two hits, one walk and three RBIs total. Sean Bouchard had three hits and scored once.

Charlie Blackmon got on base three times, drove in two runs and scored twice for the Rockies. Jordan Beck had two hits and a run scored, while Ezequiel Tovar got on twice.
