May 9 Fantasy Baseball Starting Pitcher Streamers: Ben Lively, Slade Cecconi, Keaton Winn and More
A look at Thursday's probable starters who are widely available in fantasy leagues and have good matchups.
Even though there are only seven games scheduled today, I still have four streamers for you: That’s a pretty good ratio. Not all streamers are created equal, however, and expectations must change accordingly.
Let’s look at Thursday’s probable starters (according to MLB.com) who are widely available in fantasy leagues and have good matchups, creating streaming value. Most stats and rankings are from ESPN. The full streamer rankings are listed at the bottom.

Slade Cecconi, Arizona Diamondbacks @ Cincinnati Reds
Of six Cincinnati hitters who qualify for the batting title, only Elly De La Cruz is hitting over .234. And he has been electric, batting .254 with eight home runs and 21 stolen bases (while only getting caught three times). The rest of his teammates have mostly let De La Cruz down, though, due to both injury and performance issues.
Cecconi has struck out close to a batter per inning this season and hardly walks anyone. It’s a good recipe, but his ERA is sitting around 5.00 (in an admittedly small 16.1 innings). He has a chance to lower that number against the struggling Reds.
With his ability to strike guys out, Cecconi is a mid-level streamer. Don’t count on a great performance, but Cecconi has shown competence in his short career.
Ben Lively, Cleveland Guardians @ Chicago White Sox
Chicago continues their romp among the worst teams in baseball after a small show of big-league-level play. Every pitcher has fantasy value against the White Sox.
Lively has struck out batters at a below-average rate in his career, but he has excelled in that area this year, collecting 24 strikeouts in 21.2 innings while walking only six. That has led to an ERA just over 2.00 in 2024, and the good times could keep rolling against the Sox.
Lively is a mid- to high-level streamer in this one. His career numbers call for pause, but his performance this year gives him a higher ceiling than most streamers.
Tobias Myers, Milwaukee Brewers vs. St. Louis Cardinals
The Cards are a bottom-five offensive team with few impact hitters. One of those guys, Willson Contreras, suffered a broken arm after getting hit by a swing while catching. An already weak lineup lost their best performer of 2024.
Myers debuted this season and has allowed nine runs in 13 innings. His strikeout and walk rates have been a hair worse than average, but it’s hard to know what to expect from the young pitcher. The matchup dictates his spot on this list.
Myers is a mid- to low-level streamer, likely with a defined ceiling but also getting his best matchup of the season.
Keaton Winn, San Francisco Giants @ Colorado Rockies
Winn has lower-than-average walk and strikeout rates in 77 career innings. It has led to below-average results so far, but Winn hasn’t been too far from the middle. He is a streaming-level pitcher.
The Rockies are a good team to target with pitching streamers. They are in the bottom 10 in most major offensive categories over the full season, and that has held true over the last week as well. Colorado hasn’t hit at any point during the season.
Winn is a mid-level streamer on Thursday. He doesn’t hurt himself with walks and strikes out enough batters to manage against weak lineups.
