Discussing the most-added fantasy baseball players heading into the weekend.

Things can change in the MLB in a hurry, which means it’s important for fantasy owners to always be on top of the waiver wire.

We already looked at some of the top waiver wire options earlier in the week, but are going to do it again today.

Explore the best in-season tool to manage lineup/start decisions including waiver pickups, projections, trade suggestions, trade value charts, rest of season rankings, power rankings, and tons more with Fantasy Assistant. Use our fantasy baseball trade analyzer and trade value charts to break down trade scenarios and weekly projections to find the best fantasy options.

Mason Miller Fantasy Outlook

Oakland’s Miller has the highest own percentage increase at 9.74%. He gave up two runs in his first outing of the season, but has been lights out since.

Miller has covered seven innings in his five games pitched this season, and now has a 2.57 earned run average. He’s struck out 12 batters, while walking three. Miller has finished four games and earned a pair of saves.

Miller might not be on a good team, but he’s going to pitch pretty frequently by the looks of things. He’s a strikeout machine, which makes him a valuable fantasy reliever. We’d all love if he got more save chances, but he’s still a solid option in all leagues. I like him best in deeper leagues, and he’s trending toward being a good standard league option if he can earn a few saves.

Paul Blackburn Fantasy Outlook

The Oakland starter hasn’t allowed an earned run across two starts and 13 innings pitched. He’s 1-0, with seven strikeouts and just one walk.

Blackburn is scheduled to pitch Friday against the Washington Nationals, which sets up as a pretty favorable matchup. If he can deliver another strong outing, his own percentage should improve even more before his next start.

Either make room to stream him for this outing, or be ready to add him if he pitches well again.

Jack Flaherty Fantasy Outlook

Flaherty doesn’t have the best numbers through two starts, but his strikeouts stand out.

Flaherty is 0-1 with a 5.25 ERA across 12 innings pitched. He’s struck out 12 batters already, while walking just one.

His next start is scheduled for Sunday against the Minnesota Twins, the team with the worst average in the league so far. Between the good matchup and the strikeouts, I’m all for adding Flaherty before the start, and then playing matchups with him going forward.

Brandon Marsh Fantasy Outlook

Marsh has been great across his first 12 games of the season. He’s collected 13 total hits across 39 at-bats for a .333 average. Marsh has four home runs, nine RBIs, six runs scored and a stolen base as well.

Marsh hit .254 and then .245 in his first two MLB seasons, but bumped that to .277 last season. He looks to be on his way to another solid average this season, although it’s bound to fall off at some point.

Marsh has hit 11 and 12 homers across the past two seasons, so his power numbers are also up a bit this season. It’s still very early in the season, but he looks like he’s improved, so I’m all for adding him to see if he can remain a good fantasy asset.

Jurickson Profar Fantasy Outlook

Profar is also hitting .333 this season, but across 15 games for the Padres. He’s getting on base at a .434 clip as well.

Profar has 15 total hits, including five doubles and two home runs. He drove in 10 runs, scored six times, walked seven times and struck out nine times.

Profar is a career .240 hitter and on the wrong side of age 30 now. This looks more like a hot start than anything, but I’m also OK trying to take advantage of his hot streak while you can.

Martin Perez Fantasy Outlook

Perez has looked great across his three starts for Pittsburgh this season. He’s 1-0 with a 1.89 ERA in 19 innings pitched. Perez has 15 strikeouts and has walked five.

One thing to note is that he’s faced three pretty bad offenses (Marlins, Nationals, Tigers) so far. Perez has also allowed six hits in each game, so he’s been pretty fortunate to only allow four earned runs so far.

Still, Perez is a solid waiver wire option just to see if he can keep things rolling in his next starts. He’s not lined up to pitch over the weekend, and is available in plenty of leagues yet, so you could probably wait a few days before trying to add him. Perez likely will face the Mets next, who are a pretty average hitting team across the board.
