Ryan Zeferjahn | Fantasy Outlook

Zeferjahn struggles with ratios despite maintaining a key late-inning role for the shorthanded Angels.

Ryan Zeferjahn remains a key late-inning option for the Angels with Drew Pomeranz and Robert Stephenson sidelined on the injured list. However, his recent form is shaky, posting a bloated 8.18 ERA and 2.27 WHIP over his last four appearances. These struggles compound the issues for the last-place Angels as they try to climb the standings.

While Zeferjahn's stellar 13.05 K/9 rate highlights his excellent bat-missing ability, his high walk rate continues to damage his ratios. Our models project him to finish the season with a 4.50 ERA and 1.39 WHIP, suggesting his recent blowups are a bit of an outlier. Still, without improved control, his grasp on high-leverage situations remains highly volatile.
